Wow Kerry! Your calligraphy skills are truly coming along! I think you're able to express a great depth of line variation, and your letters are attractive as well.
Why would they/should they change it? The feed is specifically designed for the short strokes used in Kanji…and the pen is marketed only in Japan. Seems to me if we USA residents “import” a 912 FA then it’s our responsibility to make the upgrade if we want to use it for something it’s not designed for (like cursive).
@@davidmathews2124 I bought an ebonite feed but I havent used it at all, the Iroshizuku inks are wet enough for there to be no skipping at all when flexing. And mind you I've gone hard with the pen, Really flexed it, no skipping at all
@@Feanorsmagicjewels Same pen, same ink, and I get tons of skipping and railroading. Have to use that pen achingly slowly. So the feed upgrade is a necessity for me.
I’m not sure, but I think that Ohio River by Montgomery Pen Co. is a dry ink. It certainly is in my Karas Version K2 fountain pen with a #5 medium nib.
Can you give a follow up on this? I’m curious to get a 2 slit. I have a new 912 fa and have troublemakers and other drier inks. Currently it has noodles zhivago and have pilot inks, sailor, platinum diamine, new to me vinta and troublemaker both seem drier. Also have you tried shimmer in it? Did you find any pairings either good or bad?
Does this setup only work with the 912, or would this fit in other Pilot models like the 743? By which I mean, tell me it doesn't work at all so I am not tempted to upgrade from my FPR ultra flex pen... I'm about to try a comically dry chroma-shading ink in that pen (Nekoyanagi).
Hello, sorry for bothering you with such issues but I'm just a student and such an investment means a lot to me. A pen like this is a "lifetime investment". I have been following your channel for a very long time and I have watched most of your reviews regarding flex nib fountain pens. Today please help me to choose 1 between these two. For me the doubts are, 1) 912 FA is a bit scratchy if even a little amount of oil is on the paper. How big of a problem is this 2) I couldn't totally be sure if the line variation of M1000 is the same as that of 912 FA. Please let me know your thoughts. 3) Is the extra investment for M1000 really worth it? Please help me.

❤ Love the way that glistens!
I don't do dry inks.
Ordered the two slit version yesterday for my 912. Hoping for good results. Will report back.
So can I ask you how this turned out?
yes, we want to know!
I'd love to see some of the classic dry inks like Diamine Registrar's, Pelikan 4001 Blue Black, maybe Lamy Blue Black, maybe Platinum Blue Black.
Please try with Pelikan 4001 series inks (royal blue/blue-black) those are restricted in flow
That appears to be a great improvement over the plastic feed. Could you please try a lamy ink or pelikan 4001 in this? Thank you.
I upgraded to a Flexible Nib Co. feed and the results were immense. Pilot needs to change the feed on the 912 FA.

Hi! In Jan 2022, I don't see a follow-up video. Was it buried in another video? Thanks!
Wow. The Perfect Calligraphy Pen with this Ebonite feed.

Kaweco inks are very dry.
If you have one, it would be interesting to see how the ebonite feed performs!
have you thought about trying a FPR himaliya? I ordered one and I'm hyped for it to arrive, but I'm wondering if FAreally any better
Thank you! I'm considering the FA nib from Pilot. Do you find if you use Iroshizuku inks ONLY, there isn't a need to change to the ebonite feed?
Good morning, where did you get your feed? Which one did you buy? Mahalo, Keahi
I bought mine from Nibsmith and it’s the black one with 3 slits
Thanks so much.
robert oster african gold is a dry ink
Looks like it lays down a lot of ink! When is it too much ink? Had my 912 for about a week and like it a lot. Such a soft touch can do so much.
I love Lie de The so I’m looking forward to that.
can you try it with Diamine Autumn Oak?

Sorry for your wallet to tell you, but he also sells them for Pilot size 15 nibs(Custom 743/823/845). The 912 uses size 10.
@@osirisgolad You're already late I purchased a 743 🤣
@@nauci Excellent, that absolves me of all blame then! Enjoy your pen.

FA all the way...the best ✒️
I find Pelikan Edelsten Inks dry.
