  • This video shows my Saturday May 7th, 2022 cycling tour of the Lavender Creek Trail, Rockcliffe Blvd Bikeway, Black Creek Park West, and Smythe Park. All of this territory is part of the former City of York. The video begins in the Stock Yards Village shopping mall and ends at the Scarlett Rd entrance into Smythe Park.

The bike I was riding is a non-folding Linear Limo Recumbent Bike. More info about this bike in the link above. I filmed this using my GoPro HERO 9 Black action camera mounted to the main frame tube of the bike at the front with a custom 3D printed plastic bracket. I recorded the audio with a Panasonic voice recorder and earpiece microphone.

Nice! Ya, it's really handy how they've connected those together.

That looks like a really nice trail, and it's good that you can connect a few short trails together to go further off road! It's too bad though that so much of Toronto is completely paved over and changed from what it would have originally looked like many years ago, such as the creek now flowing down a concrete creek bed, and it's original route and flow changed, or the other creek that you mentioned is now underground.

Yes for sure. If I ever had access to a time machine, I'd love to go back to the time period when Toronto was first being settled. It would be really interesting to see some of the landmarks that I see everyday with an entirely different backdrop.

Going over speed bumps on a regular bike is easy you just stand up on the pedals to give your butt a break. How do you deal with speed bumps on a recumbent?

Unfortunately there isn't really a direct alternative to that for my recumbent. I deal with speed bumps just by slowing down.
