Kats sits down with the son and daughter of Jerry Lewis to reminisce about the Lewis home in the historic Scotch 80s neighborhood which is up for sale.
It would have been nice if this “second family” gave something to the first family, just something out of kindness, especially the homeless daughter Jerry Lewis has on the streets!

Upon his death she inherited 50 million. Don't feel too bad for her. Biological children got nothing, because the eldest son Gary wrote a book about how emotionally neglectful Jerry was to his sons especially to his youngest Joseph who committed suicide because his father rejected him because of his drug use, instead of being a parent and emotionally supportive, he also lived in a homeless shelter and REFUSED to help pay for his sons funeral. So, it was completely unacceptable and Gray wrote a book about him and his siblings growing up with an unloving, volatile father, who came home from the set never knowing what kind of a mood he would be in. Yes, Jerry was a talented, comedic actor, but as we all know, behind closed doors its always a different story.

I've been finding out recently about this Suzan Lewis situation...for years, as a fan of JL, I had NO IDEA. I feel so sorry for this poor woman, especially what she must be going through during the coronavirus pandemic. How does a homeless person even socially distance and keep safe from infection. My mom died at age 41. My Dad soon remarried to a woman 20 years his junior. When my dad died he left everything to his second wife. My brothers and I were left nothing but the memories. You get over it and then you move on. Life is short. It shouldn't always be about the money but for most people sadly it is......

As you say, it’s more like an expensive hotel, not the sort of family home where you could just lounge on the sofa with nice cup of tea and a snack. My little house may not be as posh, but it’s much more welcoming and relaxing and nobody feels like they have to be on their best behaviour.
So, did they keep anything? It was a pretty in-depth auction. The book they made so anyone could bid on them online too. I guess the 50mil estate wasn’t enough that she could have shared his things with his family. I think honestly they wouldn’t want any of it.

Another thing I noticed as he was getting older was, that he would also frequently wear the color yellow along with the color red. (Kind of like mustard & ketchup) but who cares; if that's what he liked, that's what he liked.

The first larger house was sold and money split with his first wife i the divorce. It seems that he didn't have much left by the end, but his sons were given the rights to all of his work and did alright out of him most of their lives. He knew they were okay.
Some people actually believe the made up sum of $50 million, as if anyone could see into his bank account, ha. He may have been worth big money when he was young, but unlikely by 91. He became bankrupt in the 80's when his cinema business collapsed and why he made the film Hardly Working and why he had to sell the rights to his film The Nutty Professor, which he later admitted he regretted.
By the way people, Danielle was not selling anything, as none of it was hers. Her brothers also saw Jerry's wife Sam and Danielle from when she was little and they went to events together at times. Patti also got on okay with Jerry after time. They had grown up kids in common.

As you say, it’s more like an expensive hotel, not the sort of family home where you could just lounge on the sofa with nice cup of tea and a snack. My little house may not be as posh, but it’s much more welcoming and relaxing and nobody feels like they have to be on their best behaviour.
There are obviously different perceptions of Opulence. That is the most boring, cheap looking house - very surprised it belonged to Jerry Lewis.
