Got to love DREAM. It's like PRIDE on steroids.
Its not that its cheesy but just that they havent changed their intro since 2000. The Japanese dont always portray their fighters as samurai's. The all have their own individual and unique intro.
By my standards and by the majority of the viewers standards, think the Japanese intro's aren't "cheesy". It shows their fighters a bit more respect than American promotions(mainly UFC) for making their intro's and letting them talk instead of saying "this guy iz p4p the best and that guy iz 2nd best"

The fights themselves overshadow any type of production value the promotion may have.
and I don't know why people make fun of the UFC gladiator thing. Are the japanese promotions any less cheesy and repetitive by portraying their fighters as Samurais?

its bcuz there r lots of ignorant ppl who think that fighters in the ufc r invincible, ufc has sum great fighters but they r all human, ppl have lots of direspect 4 the sport cuz they say that every1 (yes, every1) outside the ufc is a can, they dont give, marius, aoki, kawajiri and hansen a chance, i agree no1 can beat machida, gsp n a.silva right now, but that doesnt mean they r all cans, they r still good fighters!
