Honestly, mad respect for the tie between Ableton and FL. Straight harmony
that shit gives me subharmonies in the bass freqs
Ableton is better.
still FL GANG FL GANG
the 4 daws were living in harmony, until the FL nation attacked. Only the master of all 4 can stop them.
@@obeseduck3861 nope they flex their professional looking bland color theme.
Asking chat not to meme? Bold strategy.
I was surprised to not even see REAPER getting placed. Personally I would rank it at an S tier, there's not a thing you can't customize in this DAW, plenty of scripts/extensions/themes. It's super lightweight and costs 60$ for a license.
Don't forget that you can use it as a video editor too.
Buuuuut its 60 dollars for almost no workflow although those are good attributes, I'd see it in B
@@afhaxe7018 What do you mean no workflow? I have used Pro Tools, Audition, FL Studio, GarageBand, and Acid, but Reaper has been my favorite by far. You're only paying $60 for a fully customizable DAW. The customization community is huge and widely supported by Cockos. and you get a lightweight video editor. I can count on my hand how many times Reaper has crashed in last two years from daily use. I can't say that about many other DAWs.
@ポンズ隊長Noダダダンジョン Exactly, Reaper is so stable. It only crashed once for me (I'm taking the blame.). I had about 30 instances of Vital running. So it was less of a crash and just my cpu being unable to handle that.
is reaper bad for beginners? I know almost nothing about using a DAW
bro wtf where is create craft mixbleton fruity chucky cheese studio 18 ????

We all know we’re all here to see the ableton/fl/logic rankings and rage over them
REAPER is S tier - for mixing purposes at least. Havent made any music on it yet
Brilliant for producing too
its basically free too
Used it for Years before switching to Cubase exclusively. Absolutely S tier.
I dont even use Bitwig but it should def be higher, the modulation capabilities are unmatched its crazy
Imo Bitwig definitely should be in S tier.
The modulation capabilities, ability to have unlimited no. of modulators and macros, the grid, the operators, the numerous time stretching algorithms, plugin sandboxing (impossible to crash the whole DAW if a plugin crashes), etc.
It's just really flexible and is a sound design heaven for me.
Bruh I dont even use 3rd party vsts anymore for production except for Valhalla Supermassive. Used to use Xfer Ott but that too, Garron made a super identical preset with stock devices so haven't used Xfer's in a while :P
Bitwig definitely should be in S tier.
[Imo] As someone who switched from FL to Bitwig last year, I say Bitwig leaves FL in the dust.
Bitwig is the future, it essentially improves on what ableton and FL have to offer. LOL at ableton in s tier when it still doesn’t offer something as basic as Pdc. And FL doesn’t even have basic monitoring which makes mixing a nightmare. Bitwig and cubase are leagues beyond all other daws IMO
yeh im super passionate about bitwig as my sound design/DAW laboratory. i switched from ableton a few years ago. i realize ableton vs bitwig comes down to personal preference (mostly because some ableton people havent tried bitwig yet to realize how absolutely awesome it is), but cmon. they are so much alike how could 1 be 2 tiers under the other?
@@nebroskitheraut6705 not to mention the ability for me to use a DC coupled interface in my eurorack modular and literally incorporate signals from the DAW straight to modular.
I cannot believe you dissed bitwig like this. subscribed & liked.
🤣
idc what daw anyone uses. some people pay full price for kontakt libraries and still make shit tracks. it's not the daw
Been using reason since I started producing. With vst support it's actually a really solid program. The fact that it's also laid out on a irl-type instrument rack makes it quite intuitive. S tier. Don't @ me
@you
Use me as an "All hail Reaper" button.
is that moist critikal
My main daw all hail
@@kornsyrup2 yeah (with Moist voice)
Yeah what about reaper
Audacity loses points for collecting personal data
just use tenacity, it's a fork without the telemetry
I’m pretty sure everything on your phone collects personal data anyways
@@MNNIC555 No shit sherlock. They are not gaining points either.
@@tzetzo_tzetzov I’m just saying if Your data is already being stolen I don’t see a problem in the more companies stealing it
@@MNNIC555 Cringe
i better see free music maker 2021 working at the top
Cakewalk is like low A tier since it's pretty bare bones. It's confusing as hell at first with it's super wonky workflow but once you get used to it It's actually pretty fast and easy to use. I especially like how quick it is to add and remove tracks
Bitwig is essentially Ableton, but stable and more forward thinking. It also CAN'T crash due to plugin sandboxing.
Studio One rocks🔥 one of the best DAW out their.
Damn Right it is
FOR REAL, people sleep on Studio One hard
you need high end computer though
@@reisaki18 Wrong, its Dropout Protection function is one of the best out there and I've got like 90 MIDI + Audio tracks running on a 2017 MacBook Air on S1 going fairly smooth.
ive tried studio one after reaper because we use it at uni. idk what it is about it but i just cannot get behind it, ive found ableton much better and easier to use (and switch to). i just dont vibe with it much for some reason
Ableton is literally that 16 track model
8 track* but yes
@@dustboxednorth Even worse
@@dustboxednorth its 8 for the Lite version that comes with every second audio interface and midi controller out there, but there is also a 16 track version, so yeah it makes even less sense.
Damn, no love for Reaper :(
@Alexey Ralkov really depends what part of the forums you are in
camellia uses reaper as do a good portion of bemani artist. idk every community has bad apples and a lot of times it’s a vocal minority kind of deal. sorry your experience wasn’t a very positive one 👍
@Alexey Ralkov honestly yeah. Reaper low-key has a cancer community. I love it so much though.
Been trying Studio One lately and I'm really liking it, feels like Cubase with a more intuitive workflow
I love Studio One! Been using it for almost 2 years. Its great!
I also use studio one, I've been using it for 2 years and everything about it is great so far! I'm literally still learning new shit like everytime I open the software lmao
It's a good DAW but the built in sounds and plugins were ass when I last tried it.
switched to Studio One from Pro Tools last year, have not looked back for even a second. I work so much faster and everything just seems easier
studio one gotta be the most underrated daw, incredibly intuitive and powerful
Yeah, you can add a bunch of vsts to garageband. I currently produce in it, and it have some pretty nice plugins installed. I would consider it a mid A tier.
joji makes all his stuff in garageband so it's definitely pretty good
You can add VSTs to garageband, but the way you actually use them once they're installed is dreadful. Apple's own samplers and synth presets n shit get their own big panel on the left, but selecting vital or something you gotta find this weird tiny dropdown menu
@@giddycadet It’s the same in logic too unfortunately
I recently upgraded to Logic from GB, and after about a weekish, I was used to Logic. It’s probably the smoothest transition between DAWs you’ll get
@@JcjenxncDefinitely! Im trying out the trial, and it is literally so easy to switch!
It hurt me when he said Bitwig is bad for collabs, it’s the only DAW that can import both FL and Ableton projects. Also it’s even better in automation than Ableton is
If I had known this when I was 20, I probably would’ve been a billionaire right now
The cardinal sin of EDM...
Bruh Bitwig shits on everybody lose lmao. You can import ableton and fl projects now
The best daw is the friends we made along the way.
Also, I legit collect daws like Pokémon/Bakugan,
I basically use everything and anything, since most of the genres I make have different workflows.
Miss LMMS, god tier
You've done Bitwig dirty.
Didn't even rank Reaper, knew it would go above Ableton and FL. lol
But that plugin GUI tho.....haha
reaper in the background like: "hey, fuck you, man"
Bitwig def s tier for me. Besides all the features like modulators, macros, plugin sandboxing, etc the workflow is just super fast. The pop up browser just makes finding and loading vsts super quick. Hit t then b, type in the first few letters of your vst, down enter and you loaded your vst. Takes 3x as long in every other daw I tried and this alone makes me unable to use other daws. Then you have your session/grid view which is like ableton and helps with putting down ideas and making loops but with bitwig, unlike ableton, you can use it simultaneously with the timeline to turn the loops into full songs. The built in effect presets are also really good, they're literally vsts because of the ability to chain and create macros. I could go on and on.
Agreed. People really be sleeping on bitwig
Bitwig is amazing, so many nice workflow features. Use it since 2 years and would never go Back to Live
it is better than live :-D but it's a biased list so it's fine.
Been an ableton user for many years. I have recently out grown it’s capabilities as a sequencer and audio editor. I have demoed all the big boys and Cubase is by far the best sequencer for musical expression and quality sound.
No soundtrap?! whatthe heck!? lol
I really like studio one, bc it has way more functions than ableton
studio one is really easy and way more features than ableton, even with some stupid things
Welllll as an ex-Studio One user (using Bitwig now but that's besides the point) you are kinda wrong.
Studio One does not even have a proper macro knob which you can even decide how much modulation it's gonna do. What you get is a shortcut knob on a panel.
There's not even a proper LFO, no M4L, and the workflow is VERY clunky (to me atleast). Even if you use shortcuts it's kinda tiresome to get from a plugin to another plugin in the same chain. In Bitwig or Ableton everything is laid out in a horizontal manner, which means no extra clicking or pressing keyboard shortcuts.
There's way more cons with S1 that I won't mention here. But hey, if you really like it use it.
@@nebroskitheraut6705 Huh i think im not a pro user because i dont know what any of this means xD I mean all my knobs of my S49 work perfectly in my plugins, and Lfo modulation in automation is very easy to do, if a bit unconventional. Maybe i dont get it, but i nearly dont use any shortcuts, and thats why im finding ableton very missing of features.
Studio One is the best one these days cuz it was developed by PreSonus which is a really great audio creative company like avid. They know wts the sound and wt it should be. And also they developing it's so fast and fastest growing daw of this year. And also even better than Cubase when it comes to electronic music composing. It's a daw for music composers and producers who follows vibes with actual music. It's not a daw for dubstep or hardstyle and that's the reason why beginner producers choose Ableton over Studio one cuz they are focusing wts on trending this generation and not trying to create something unique with actual emotions using music. When you go to download pro tools which is industry standard, you'll Studio One with Cubase in their site bcoz they all are developed by industry standard company developers. Studio One is definitely the DAW of next generation.
@@HP-hu8rw studio one has many shortcomings unfortunately, when compared to the other like Bitwig and Ableton. Please read my comment above.
Cubase is S tier, just for being the grandpa of all those DAWs, and also looks amazing. :D
Bitwig is S teir, it does everything ableton does and more but better in every way. After switching it makes ableton feel vintage
And made by ex ableton devs too
One thing i like about Ableton, that has nothing to do with Ableton is that they have a tab with learning music on the website. shit helped me out so much.
Probably not ranked reaper because it would be higher than S
Reason is actually pretty sick, I know not many ppl use it because it's hard to use.
reaper straight to sss+ tier
Sad he missed it
ACID Pro: "am i a joke to you lol?"
ACID is lost to that Magix world, and magix is not good.
As someone who's produced entirely using Reason for 6 years and counting I'm glad it didn't end up in B tier lol
But yeah, Reason 11's got VST2 support (with VST3 hopefully coming when 12 drops), dark mode, and a significantly less clunky interface than, say, 7. It's the only DAW that's really clicked with me.
The famous modular rack is even available as a VST plugin too--they phased ReWire out, further reducing clunkiness.
My DAW journey goes like this = FL(3 month) - Ableton (2year) - And Bitwig....
I'm must say.... don't use Bitwig (I don't want people know how amazing bitwig is. Lol....)
They missing out. lol
Lol
in defense of Reason - by today's standards it's out of date, but back in the day (even before VST support) Reason was hugely important for electronic music. Old school dubstep and early/pre riddim in like 2011-2012 were made in Maelstrom before VSTs came in. Reason's definitely out of date and as a Reason user I can say a lot of us are frustrated with how they've been ignoring their users lately but it has some important history in electronic music!
Not sure how its out of date when it has full plugin support, a resigned and attractive gui and lots of native tools, arpeggiators, chord and midi generators and let's not forget the combinator.
@@trueneutral3092 i love reason! but it cannot support vst3, and the raw audio editing capabilities are many years behind
I tried Reason years ago and I personally loved its limited set of tools and its closed space, as it forced you to be creative and experimental.
I mean… Garageband is free, and for consumer use, so it’s S tier for its price. As a proper DAW, B tier is pretty fair. But of course, there’s EMAGIC Logic Pro, which is just like a more successful cousin of Garageband.
Ableton vs Fl Studio: On Ableton you have neat automations that cannot be confused with midi or sample, then each sound / instrument automatically goes into a mixer channel, you can create groups of groups and you can do it much faster. Even only for these 3 reasons I prefer Ableton to Fl Studio, but there would be others.
Holy fuck fl automations have great features bro check them out yeah there is little more clicks then abelton. I m fl user for it's piano roll and different window abelton and it's mixing things is too small.
FL Studio is either the tool of total beginner amateurs, or absolute nutjob inhuman producers who overly meticulously fine-tune everything
Logic is 100% S-tier.
Reason is God. Ableton feels like I'm working in a fucking cubicle.
cool stuff ive been using fl for 7 years and im nowhere near where you are but still grinding lol
Reaper definitely S-tier
Studio One wasnt even listed? WOW. Definitely S tier
I feel like this channel is going to explode over the next year or so. Love the content!
He talks a mile a minute, the channel isn't going anywhere unless he sorts that out
Bitwig Studios 3 is fucking awesome. The interface is incredible and I've never had any bug issues.
Not saying you were wrong but the best part about logic is you never pay for updates.
Ok damn, the tie between FL and Ableton really speaks for itself, haha.. We really have two of the best DAWs ever and it's just about what kinda person you are, it's either you like FL or Ableton which is really really fine cuz both have their respective ups and downs, even though I personally still think Ableton is slightly better than FL in terms of like, creativity, it provides a bit more options, but again I just hugged FL that I don't wanna leave it now.. Not to mention why go anywhere else when Porter and Madeon use it too.. But I just can't stand it when people say FL isn't that flexible or something, like, a DAW is a DAW dude, fully depends on the producer on what he does, you can make pretty much any kinda style on literally any DAW.. There's nothing in FL which lures you into making a specific type of style or genre or if it limits you from making one, just depends on you on what you use and how you use it (the sounds you use and the theory you apply on it)..
there are 2 kinds of people in this world. people who make good music and people who blame their DAW.
Bitwig is better than both combined
@@rorz999 will check out one day 👍
I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO RATE REAPER :(
IPAD PRODUCERS 🗣
My DAW is so unknown that it's not even on this tier list. I guess I really am the only person that uses Waveform...
Bruh Waveform was so confusing. I believe it has a higher learning curve than any other DAWs i've used like Soundbridge (free), Studio One and Bitwig (my current DAW).
@@nebroskitheraut6705 Honestly, I was self taught and it took me over a year to finally be able to use it properly. If there were more videos on how to use it, it might be easier to learn. I also use Studio One, but since I don't have the full license, Waveform is still my go to
I agree with Nebroski. The layout was so confusing to me 😅
@@agemxieicheren2193 To be fair to both of you, the first time I opened it I said "fuck that shit" and then closed it and didn't open it again for a couple months
Audio Tech TV on RUclips uses waveform
Don't knock FL's mixer if you don't use Patcher!
reaper is the most lightweight and the one and only that never crashes.
its logic pro but 10 times better.
only downside is no good stock plugins and bad piano roll
Bitwig never crashes too, IF it does, only the VST crashes, you click on "restart vst" and everythings fine
The stock plugins are awesome, they look ugly as hell but they're pretty damn powerfull and although the piano roll can be pretty awkward and clunky at first, when you get in to customizing its behavior and set up some mouse modifiers then it can be quite amazing. It lacks some good stock midi instruments tho
reaverb and reafir are wacky powerful. reaverb is basically a convolution reverb (that can generate its own impulse responses so you don't have to download a deconvolver) and reafir does like super-multiband-something compression, eq, noisegating, etc. Plus there are all the jsfx which no other daw has access to
No matter WHAT the S tier was, we can ALL agree that SlowTools belongs on the lowest tier available
Ranking DAWs by colors haha
S tier informative content
you really need to give bitwig a second look and reaper is not even on your radar it seems, but it's S+ tier imo

just left out my boy reaper, the most convenient DAW for Windows users
I started out in FL, but later switched to ableton. The workflow in ableton just makes more sense to me. I dont really know how to explain it.
I don’t doubt the FL Studio of today is S Tier, but god almighty it was slow as all hell back in its early Fruity Loops Studio days. It was near impossible to produce on the software at the time (early 2000s).
Pirated Ableton user here and for me it's very smooth and stable, it rarely crashes on me, and when it does it's because of pirated plugins
Pirated DAWs tend to be more stable than legit DAWs for some reason
@@mgmg116 Because copy protection is intrusive and slow.
