Thank you so much for this video, I visited in 2016 for a few days whilst travelling the US and it's just confirmed I'll definitely be booking a holiday there again ASAP. It's so stunning.
It makes me really happy to see this bus left us here in the UK and didn't end up in a chop shop, and got safe, happy relocation to the USA. Gotta admit it looks so bloody odd having the US Center door on. I remember riding this actual bus here on British Soil.
Going out there in two weeks. I am retired and got tired of seeing this 'America is dead' mantra going on. So I started travelling and looking around. So far, what I've learned is ...'America.... is just fine'. And I fully expect to go to SF and confirm that. Too much negativity out there. America is still out there, and every place is different with great people and incredible cities, small towns and beautiful nature.
Confirmed. Back and the place is still amazing. Started off one day around noon took a cable car to the Ferry Bldg took a ferry to Sausalito, then ubered up to Muir Woods and bussed back then Uber across the GG back where we started, all in 6 or 7 hours. Solid eye candy all the way. The weather was perfect. So glad I went. Just as glorious as I remembered it from years ago.
Yes there was a speaker on the bus with a microphone to highlight the landmarks. $49.99 for the whole ride. Always bring a sweater or jacket on the ride it can be warm the whole day but by 430p the fog/wind comes in and gets cold fast.
Actually, much from Hitchcock (Vertigo) days is still there. The Mission Dolores garden; the museum ( Legion of Honor)near the ocean; Fort Point, beneath the GG Bridge, Union Square.
Was homelessness a big problem plz tell me I've just returned from newark California near Fremont san francisco bay area town but did not visit san francisco downtown? Is homelessness really a problem?
As a local homelessness is a problem. If you want to visit SF stick to the tourist spots like Union Square, Fishermans Wharf, Alcatraz, Pier 39, Ferry Building, Lombard Street, Alamo Square, Palace of Fine Arts and Golden Gate Bridge and you should be fine. Any homeless people just ignore.
@@gurpir oh no... the homeless and their tents are mostly in the tenderloin district in SF and also scattered about in a few other areas but most of the city is clean and tent free. The tourist spots definitely do not have "homeless tent slums" like you mentioned. Conservative media shows homeless and their tents on the news and makes it look like it's all over the city but it's not in reality
You thought it was yellow because of the name? San Francisco was the gateway to the Gold Rush area. My daughter & s-i-l moved to San Fran for his work after they married right before 9/11. So expensive so a year later moved to Oakland suburb. That's how I found out more about the Oakland Bay Bridge (+ the collapse with the earthquake). 11 years later, they got out of the area & are NE of Sacramento, kinda near Lake Tahoe, I think.
David Devonshire i lived here for all my life and the city has its darkness to it but all the tour bus will show you is the richer parts of the city. When around vaness going down to tenderloin watch out for people around you. Many have gotten jumped and robbed there. Not me though, always carry a knife and a small hatchet in my bag. So be careful when here.
Best way to see SF is on your own. Just do some research first, so you know where to go. Unfortunately these days… anything East of the Richmond has gone to complete shit. I’ve never seen this beautiful City in such chaos. It went from a paradise to a hell hole in 5yrs. !
It's really sad, but my entire life I've planned out places I wanted to visit when I retire and San Francisco was definitely in the top 5 of these places (Alcatraz was an obsession of mine as a kid). Now that I've retired and do mega traveling via cruises and hotels, I have totally taken California off my bucket list altogether due to the fact that the California government as well as citizens have let the beautiful tourist attraction of a state go to shit in a bucket with all this sanctuary crap/homeless tent city's/filth/crime/needles all over the streets and side walks. I'm actually scared I'd be robbed or killed if I go there. What a waste of such a beautiful state
@@thomashom7514 either way, I feel it's a shame. I DO believe in trump, I DO NOT believe in sanctuary cities, I know for fact about the murders being committed , I've seen pics of the filth and needles in the streets. And I feel it's a shame
@@thomashom7514 thank you for your invite and I truly admire you passion toward the state and city that you grew up in but I think I'll have to decline. Maybe someday when the California government gets their act together and secures it enough to where tourist want to visit it again, they end this free for all sanctuary nonsense, and spend a little money cleaning the place up. Until then my bucket list still has other places waiting for me to scratch off
Rick Hebert there’s nothing wrong with San Francisco. I live here. And just as Thomas mentioned, every city has its problems. The Tenderloin happens to be the eye sore of SF. And is a “big city” problem. You won’t get robbed here. Just stay in the tourist areas. Don’t doubt such a beautiful place. There’s still so many places to see that are absolutely breathtaking.
