I’ve been wanting to try the Tom Ford lipsticks but now I know to not go nuts with buying all of the shades I like.
I’ve not had a TF lipstick go bad. I love them.
Sadly I had over 50 of his lipsticks, full size and Lips and Boys. Most if not all the nude/pinks all went bad. I ended up selling off most of his lipsticks, kept about 20, mostly reds, dark plums, and oranges. I've noticed those colours don't go off. My oldest is Slander that I've had since it came out and I've used and thankfully maybe because its a red, it hasn't gone off. Lesson learned, sorry TF, but his lipsticks are not worth it for me. I rather stick to PM, Guerlain, Chanel, YSL and others that i've had for years, and have never gone off. :-(
lafemmedunette what to the TF lipsticks smell like when they’ve gone off? I have about 15 and no two seem to smell the same so I don’t know how to tell, any advice appreciated.
They smell like crayola crayons or childrens playdoh. The faint vanilla scent they had is gone, but not just that, the taste is terrible. So even if I wanted to use them hoping the smell would go away after a few minutes, the taste is unbearable. Richard and Negligee went off in about 4 months. Casablanca, Indian Rose, Sable Smoke and a few others went bad. I had Slander since 2012, still going strong. I love TF, but honestly, I'm not excited or interested much anymore in the lip colors. I have only 5 Lips and Boys left and 15 Full Size lipsticks, and I don't see myself picking up anymore. It's just way too much money to throw away. They really need to reformulate. Maybe if enough people talk about it and share their experiences will the company do something about it. Hope that helps.

@@bettybbags I can't recall but it had to be 6 months or less. That's what was upsetting. It didn't even make it to the shelf-life which is around 18-24 months or something. As soon as it starts to smell like crayola crayons or playdoh, then its gone off.

Thanks for all the swatches , it's good to see the different shades beside each other . Two of my lips and boys went bad really quickly , Richard ( same as Negligee in normal line ) and Cary ( same as Casablanca in normal line ) , Tom Ford have great shades but they go bad so quick for an expensive lipstick :'(

Hey Huey!! I have to admit... those 4 lipsticks are still sitting there... not in the garbage. It hurts!! But I've got to do it. Just building up the strength. 😂
My beloved Negligee went bad and have others that smell like they're on the way. So now I'm paranoid to buy any of his. Way too expensive to have to throw out in less than a year. All of my white tubes seem to be good.
I have 30 plus of the full size lipsticks and probably about ten are over five years old--I only have one that has gone off--Casablanca. And I still can't throw it out :( I have mostly kept them cold...I usually don't take them out of the air conditioned house.
I have so many Tom Ford lipsticks but I don't purchase his lipsticks any longer. In fact I probably have too many lipsticks from so many brands but hands down my favorite is by Givenchy le Rouge Color Intense I think it is by far a better quality lipstick.

I wanted to say, regarding the lipsticks going bad. I’ve never had a shine color go bad. Ever. I’ve mentioned to you many times my all time favorite lipstick is the shine color bare. I’ve had 5 or 6. The mattes go bad. Almost without fail. The creamier ones don’t seem to.
Dont know if this trick helps..but over the decades, i ve had a habit of always wiping clean the top surface of each lipstick after application. Originally because i dont like how the top of it looks used once they touch my lips🤭. But it seems to help conserved the lipsticks longer

Oh it's not!! 😂 There's a lot of room behind that lipstick organizer. Such a pain! But I've actually searched on RUclips for a hack, and there are a bunch of videos on how you can get your drawers to slide out farther. It requires taking out the drawers which I'm too lazy for at the moment, but I'd love to do it one of these days.
Tom Ford lipsticks do go bad quickly. I stopped buying them after my second lipstick went bad just after six months of purchase. Never again!
I was so disappointed, irked and highly irritated when my TF lipsticks went bad in about 6 months. Recently I just threw out 7 TF lipsticks. That's a ton of $$ in the trash. I still have one left that hasn't gone bad. I will never buy another one no matter how beautiful it is. My most worn lipsticks are Charlotte Tilbury. They are creamy and beautiful and do not go bad fast. I've had some for 2 years and they are fine. My second favorite is Pat McGrath though they are dry (even the luxe trance - I don't do matte anything) on my lips but a quick since I always wear lip gloss it isn't a huge deal. I don't buy brands like Dior, YSL, Chanel because they are so heavily perfumed.

I have a couple of Lip Color Shines (the formula of Bare and Nubile) that are also a few years old, and they are still fresh and vanilla scented while many of their original formula sisters have gone to the grave. All were stored in the same area, so I can factor out external conditions. I’m fairly certain that the Shines just age better. Your collection is gorgeous, but it’s admittedly a bit hard to witness the culling of expired lipsticks. I empathize all too well with the inevitable fate of TF nudes!

I miss the foils too... Recently got Hiro from his Lips & Boys line - stunning..! It's a kind of orangey-vermilion, with golden flecks in it.

I like watching this but I'm more interested in Chanel. Tom Ford uses a lot of soy in products and I'm allergic.
I put all my TF lipsticks in the fridge, the ones I don’t use regularly! You will get a much longer life span 👍

Whats ur thought n charlote tilbury lipstick?? I am actually planning to get some of their lipstick but I'm not sure which one to get or if I should get them? Would u recommend them?? I am currently loving the nars audacious lipstick they are creamy and pigmented and not drying at all.
I like the CT K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula lipsticks. The Matte Revolutions are nice, and while I find them a little bit drying they're better than most matte lipsticks I've tried. I think if her colors speak to you, you can't go wrong. But my fave CT lip product are her Lip Cheats!!
