    Vaughn,
    Love the content.👌
    I'm a huge motor head, so gas and diesel are always going to be a thing for me, but the pure raw power and savage force of electric is definitely a thing as well.
    I have a handling question for you.
    Watching the drivers and listening to your feedback, my instinct would be to concentrate more between throttle on and off trying to decel using the regen as a decompression slowdown tool, but the rotor cracking situation makes me wonder where that finesse line would be between throttle slowdown and braking transition.
    Is there a place where the electrics and mechanics have smooth interface or is that the finesse part?
    I understand the instant on and off of the electric motors, but without actually being able to drive in that type of setting comprehension is the next best thing.🤙

    As much as I love the work from Ford, GM and Dodge the past decade, and appreciate the engineering and passion going into these things; EV's still leave me feeling cold.
    Struggling to find anything exciting about them. Cars WERE the engine, and the sound they made. Can't replace that.
    Cars started feeling more clinical and cookie-cutter once platforms started sharing the same engine, etc, and EV's just exacerbate that.
    At this point, it's not about the engineering in a car, but the software a manufacturer puts in that determines how it performs.
    Nothing stopping them from making ONE vehicle, and software locking features/performance out of it to make 'different models'.

    • @VaughnGittinJr
      @VaughnGittinJr  2 года назад +2

      We just got it and have operated the car for well over a year without it. There is plenty Use without it, this just allows for more fun. Previously we would get about 1.5 hours of aggressive drive time before it had to cool overnight to run again. This car makes serious power with fast discharge rates and that power creates heat in the battery that does not have a built in cooling system. Now we get the best of both worlds without the weight of on board battery cooling.

It's still the same end result but it just doesn't seem that cool when you remove the sound and feeling of a fire spitting engine. I know it's the future of automobiles and the next generation won't know what they are missing, but it will never have that visceral sound and feeling of a high horsepower internal combustion engine combined with the car speeding around a track or roasting the tires while bumping off the rev limiter and belching fire out of the exhaust. Unfortunately we will likely see audience participation fall off and cool sports like this will simply dwindle down or go away...

      EV is not the future of cars, it’s a stopgap at best. Good for intensive urban short distance or relatively short commutes but the amount of carbon produced in manufacturing vs a petrol model takes 7+ years to even out. I like the innovation but the figures don’t ad up for most drivers. Petrol vehicles are not going away. I was parked next to a 1910 Stanley Steamer at a show once, it was fuelled by coal and water, the guy could still drive it on the road and did so regularly.
