Vaughn, Love the content.👌 I'm a huge motor head, so gas and diesel are always going to be a thing for me, but the pure raw power and savage force of electric is definitely a thing as well. I have a handling question for you. Watching the drivers and listening to your feedback, my instinct would be to concentrate more between throttle on and off trying to decel using the regen as a decompression slowdown tool, but the rotor cracking situation makes me wonder where that finesse line would be between throttle slowdown and braking transition. As much as I love the work from Ford, GM and Dodge the past decade, and appreciate the engineering and passion going into these things; EV's still leave me feeling cold. When is Ford going to release modular E-crates? If they can release motors modules and battery packs they will be able to make spec series and people will swap this stuff in build up stuff like Legos.
We just got it and have operated the car for well over a year without it. There is plenty Use without it, this just allows for more fun. Previously we would get about 1.5 hours of aggressive drive time before it had to cool overnight to run again. This car makes serious power with fast discharge rates and that power creates heat in the battery that does not have a built in cooling system. Now we get the best of both worlds without the weight of on board battery cooling.
Electric motors give immediate torque, the 1400 has zero consumer compromises in it, like a regular race car, combined with some serious battery temp cooling and a load of other mods is going to make it rip!
