i decided to go back and rewatch this video to see how different my opinion on this mode is and unsurprisingly, current me found this mode to be quite easy than past me so i will explain.
first off, Shut isn't a big of a threat.
second, both Marcus' are quite easy to do albeit the water is the biggest threat.
third, Grayling can be a menace if both Marcus and Shut attacks at the same time.
fourth, this run was done on an older version of the game where growler is pretty much a non-threat which makes him actually beneficial to keep in the cockpit instead of keeping him away because he also disables QWERTY and renders the horn not to be used anymore.
fifth, Scrap and Rascal. there were times where i knew that Scrap was in the maintenance room because there was a subtle lag when entering the maintenance room and finding Rascal was very easy and i keep rapidly clicking whilst in the room.
this mode needs quite a bit of luck to beat and also time/practice.
outdated strat that i used: just have growler get into your cockpit right before the first ship and water integrity repair. be aware though in the current version of the game, Growler disables the water switch to make it so that you can't refill the water shower. play the game on a mid-end PC because it can give an advantage to knowing if Scrap spawns or not. GRAYLING IS A HUGE PRIORITY WHEN SHUT AND MARCUS ATTACKS AT THE SAME TIME (i learnt this the hard way).

Congrats my friend.
This strategy that you did makes S.O.S way easier. When Growler is in the cockpit I am unable to flip the lever to get more water, thus I am obliterated by the silly Marcus fellas. I am going to assume that this strategy is a 'bug' that has sense been patched. I haven't done too much testing tho.
Edit: it doesnt matter I just beat it. 16th victor in the world. I started doing attempts about 2 days ago. id say ive spent a total 5 hours playing S.O.S mode.
This isnt a bug, its intentional for growler to break your lever

crazy you most of it with growler in your cockpit
before actually attempting to do the challenge seriously, i practiced the challenge with growler inside the cockpit through a lot of tries. the highest distance i have gotten was 1400. i decided to change the strat a bit and have growler inside just before the first ship and water integrity repair
@@justplayin104 why not hold him off until your horn runs out? i know that you were busy with other characters, but there was time when you could ran back and stalled him a bit longer
@@UrbanUprisingdespite disabling almost all of the cockpit display system, growler is actually not that bad. he basically disables qwerty and makes the horn no longer needed, which i find to save some time and also a safety net due to qwerty no longer a threat

@@iths11 growler is a non-lethal animatronic, but he disables your cockpit systems and also the lever refill as of the latest update
How do the ones at the bottom work

theres 2 marcus's, they both stand outside the deck door. use the shower handle when they're there.
shut appears in the hallway. hold your breath using ctrl when he's going to your direction.
grayling is the one in the maintenance room vent. just shine your flashlight on him and he will disappear.
theres 2 other animatronics in the maintenance room, if you see one of them staring directly at you, leave immediately. the other one hides around the room, click on him.
