      @WeAreItalyBound I've been thinking the region of Umbria, town of Assisi, a medieval town that I love. Arezzo, in Tuscany is amazing...I've been thinking central Italy so that it would be easy to go north or south by train. I also love art, architecture, museums and the beautiful churches of that area, but then again all of Italy has these things.

      @ Those are both beautiful places. I love Assisi. STUNNING!! Hopefully we can all find the place we want to be in. We can’t wait!

    Transportation is one of the most important things for us also.

    • @WeAreItalyBound
      @WeAreItalyBound  15 дней назад

      It is so important! First off, it can be difficult to get a license, secondly, it’s expensive to own a car there when you factor in gas and insurance. Thanks for watching! - Diane

    Hi Matt & Dianne. Awesome Video. Beautiful Scenery, Good Food and a learning experience to boot...'Vivere La Bella Vita'. Cant ask for much more. In Thailand the Skewers are called Satay which can be most any meat or seafood and my favorite, MooPing or Grilled Skewered Pork. In Japan, their version is Yakitori. My kids and I are foodies, so love talks on local cuisines. Fantastic sharing and Thank You. So happy you two are fulfilling your best lives. Stay Safe, Keep making this cool content and God Bless. Ciao.

    And the espresso making, perfect intro music too! That machine is amazing!
    I just can’t wait for you all to get there. I love all the intentional time you are putting into finding out history and the small details of each town.
    Watching you all is like watching house hunters international but better!
    I seriously can’t wait to see you all having your espresso on your balcony with a view!

    If you haven’t watched ahomeinItaly with Dave Benton you should. He does Abruzzo real estate tours. I’m a Sulmona fan myself.
    I worry about Sicily as a destination, you are isolated in a storm event and are more subject to food price fluctuations.
    Good luck on your journey, I plan retirement in Italy myself.

      Thank you so much for watching and welcome to the channel. We watch David’s channel every week. we love it!! We are leaning more and more towards Abruzzo every day. It’s funny you say that about Sulmona. Stay tuned and you might see that we feel the same way. Very soon, in fact! 😄. Have a great day! - Diane

      Please get an independent geometra check if you purchase through Dave. We paid him good money for that, although he was careful to not put the breakdown of fees in writing. When we sold, there were some major document issues that should have been taken care of if Dave had indeed had his geometra check things out.

      Are there any concerns about floods,earthquakes,etc?

    • @WeAreItalyBound
      @WeAreItalyBound  2 месяца назад +2

      Good morning and thank you for watching! We are in the same boat with our wants. We are only focusing on the 7% regions right now, so all of the videos we have put up are in that area, with the exception of the one coming up next week, and we put that in there, because it's one of my favorite places. If you go to our playlists and check out the Abruzzo list, that's where we are focusing at the moment. Raiano, Popoli, San Salvo and Casalbordino all have trains and bus services. All of these are in the 7% areas. Raiano is STUNNING! We just did a video on Casalbordino and it is beautiful as well. Actually, we haven't found a place yet that isn't. ☺️
      There is always a concern in the 7% zones about earthquakes. Sicily just had some pretty bad flooding, but is getting back to normal. We'll put some screenshots on our Community page, that list the most recent earthquakes in Italy and where they were.
      We've decided to focus on just 7% zones right now. If you're wanting warmer temps, then I would check our Serracapriola in Puglia. It's gorgeous also. We'll be doing a video on that as well soon.
      You might check out our playlists, as we have several videos on this. Right now we are still in our Abruzzo series and have done quite a few videos on the area. - Diane

      I am living in Puerto Armuelles Panama for the past 5 1/2 years right on the CR boarder. Too much rain and too hot with many earthquakes. I have my property up for sale and will move when it sells. I originally wanted Estepona Spain but the tax on world wide income is very high. So now looking at the 7 % tax offer in Italy.

    The house for sale has roof issues. I see mold. So add $40,000 to the price.

    • @WeAreItalyBound
      @WeAreItalyBound  2 месяца назад

      Thank you for your comment. I looked into the mold situation and found that it is very common when houses are closed up for some time in stone/plastered houses. Most are taken care of by using bleach and fixing the roof if needed. Some people will come in and do a remodel and have the walls taken down to stone where they will be cleaned and treated before being built back up. I will try and advise before posting if the place needs to be updated, remodeled, etc... Thank you again for your eagle eye on the details. Matt

    But u pay taxes on EVERTHING in Italy, even food. when you rent a place do you pay utilities or are they included in the rent?

    • @WeAreItalyBound
      @WeAreItalyBound  2 месяца назад

      @claudialaurendeau2865 Utilities are not normally included. Even with the taxes, it’s way less than we pay here in the US. 😊

    Sorry this has nothing to do with the crux of your vid but why do Americans drink coffee in such huge cups. Italians and most others drink their espresso in tiny cups and even milk coffees are better in cups a third of the size routinely used in the US.

      In the United States, bigger is considered better. Never mind that better is better, and bigger is simply, well, bigger.
