I believe the retirement crisis will get even worse. Many struggle to save due to low wages, rising prices, and exorbitant rents. With homeownership becoming unattainable for middle-class Americans, they may not have a home to rely on for retirement either.
Got it! Buying stocks during a recession when prices are down could be a good move. You might get them at a lower price and sell later when they go up. Just do your homework and be aware of the risks before diving in!
@@FlorentGulliver That's awesome! Investing in stocks with a reliable trading system can lead to great outcomes. It's fantastic that you've been working with a financial advisor for a year now. Starting with less than $200K and being just $19,000 away from making half a million in profit is impressive! Keep up the good work!

We relate so much to her history and her situation and decision to live in Italy, it was amazing! So we needed her experience and info! Just wish pictures could have been shown…the grocery store, the beach, the streets, the little restaurants in her little town and her apartment even, that would have been great to see.
Very interesting. The driving license issue may be a problem (I am British). Do you know what inheritance tax liability is if you die and leave the property to your spouse or children?
My U.S. health insurance (Medicare and BC) cost close to $6,000 per year for just a single person. It did pay for cataract surgery and for treatment of a broken arm.
My sports car in Italy is 1/2 the price with much shorter distances than here in San Diego California with our gas being $5/ gallon and distances nowhere near as far.
Wow that was impressive. Monica covered it all. She is very good in communicating clearly and to the point. Btw private insurance is almost same in cost. Maybe 10-20% difference and in the end you will go to the same hospital and doctor. Not really worth it.
She pays $600/month for 3 bedrooms compared to $1500/ month for a tiny unfurnished bedroom in a house with random strangers you may not like in San Diego.
Compared to Manhattan, where I am now, I could easily do €600/mo! 🤣 Though I'm much more interested in buying a little place outright. I'm already looking at all kinds of property videos from Abruzzo to Puglia, regions where I'm particularly interested in. Hope to do a scouting trip and meet expats as soon as next summer, 2025. Thank you for your videos and for Monica!🙂
Maybe you should make people aware that, no matter how cheap property and food is, when it comes to gas & electricity, costs are astronomical. And you can take that as fact, as not only do i have a brother & sister living there, but also countless friends. I am also paying the gas & electric standing charges on my parents house, and i can assure you, it's not cheap. Furthermore, the area from Silvi all the way down to Pescara is considered rather "dodgy" by most locals, with many illegal people just wandering the streets and beaches.
@@purpletoo12 Depends on the locality. Over the past few years there's been lots on the news about people returning to their homes only to discover changed locks and squatters, very hard to evict. Also, even in small towns/villages, you need to be careful of burglaries/break-ins. The days of leaving door open or key in the door are long gone. Also, a lot of local police stations closed, so you have to call the nearest larger town, if they can be bothered to send someone!

300 euro/month is a THIRD the cost of groceries here in California.
Grazie Monica! This is exactly my plan! I should have my dual citizenship in roughly two years and then I'm going house hunting in Abruzzo!
Is very hard to have citizenship in Italy, I know Americans who bought houses and they must leave after 3 months only EU can live there.
Thanks for the vlog very informative !

My question is does Italy hospitals take American health insurance in case of an emergency ?
No, you'd have to purchase an international policy to be covered. Thanks for viewing!

Very hard.
This lady is quite sharp.
Is it possible to secure a rental if you do not speak Italian?
Yes a large portion of expats in Italy do not speak italian. You will have no problem.
So she has the $31500/year income required to stay in Italy?
@@doreekaplan2589 i believe thats how they qualified.
So she gets taxed 7% on that $31,500/yr
@@Anticrap-b1e Pretty sure social might not count- def on income earned in Italy.
