    Hello ! Nice trap. I have a bridge over the Snake River, 200 yards away. The problem is when I shoot the Pigeons, they'll drop in the river. I don't mind gettin in there on a day like today, but in the winter, that's another story. TAKE CARE..

    I love that drizzly cool weather too. Thanks for sharing this video. When I was a boy we’d use a box and string to make a bird trap. We’d put bait under the box and run out 10-15 feet of string from the trigger stick and wait, and wait, and wait, and, well you get the picture 😉 I didn’t know about cool trigger sticks like this but hey I was a boy and laying on the ground watching birds hop all around my “trap” was excellent fun 🙂👍

    HI JS.! Very simple & effective little trap. You know we watch your show as a family viewing, our three vegan & vegetarian girls were rather slightly surprised not horrified, on the trap that is.! They actually design a similar trap but with a large umbrella. They caught five pigeons & a squirrel. The squirrel was fine & healthy but the birds were infected with some virus.So it would be wise not to eat birds that lives in the city unless you breed & feed them yourself. Nevertheless yur trap is functional. Our girls have decided to try it with catching fish, reptiles & amphibians in the creeks where we resides. Maybe even trap some Smurfs in the undergrowth. Cheers for sharing mate. By the way JJ is now their hero. Stay safe cobber.

    So, as one who has done a lot of survival trapping and training. A simple cardboard box can work as well, with a flap cut in the top, to retrieve prey. Milk creates, laundry basket work, and even an upside down wheelbarrow has been known to catch a hog. The trap you made there is often used flat on the ground with a trench dug out and bait inside. It lures the quail in, and they can't get out. As a box trap, it can be very effective for all kinds of game, however it is important to use something (stones, boards) underneath to keep your prey from digging out. I have caught many critters using this setup with our triggers.
    It is important to practice trapping. It does take some skill, also pets can easily get tangled up, so precautions need to be taken. It's one of my favorite subjects, thanks for sharing.

    Great lesson! I'm urban apartment dweller, have sought guidance on live trapping local pigeons, doves to start keeping and propagating for ongoing food source when shtf. You, as usual, have informed and inspired me. I can do it! Your instructions across your whole subject range are spot-on. Look forward to each vid, and visit, consider, maybe purchase your products depending on needs. Trust your choices. THANKS.

    Only eat the fat ones. lol It is cool hearing the rain in the video because it is pouring now. Which sparks the idea, if you own a GHB, do you also have multiple routes to get home in case your daily commute is flooded? I like urban survival but it needs to be more than just bushcraft in public parks, things like greyman, opsec, and getting what you need without coming under police radar for pesky by-law infractions.

I gave them your name, email, home address 1, home address 2, home address 3, and your property locations because your probably going to run to the woods to hide from the irs!! Haha! Joking, absolutely great video! I absolutely love these trapping/foraging videos! Teach the week to week income people how to live off the land and forage for food before its time...and it's time!!

    Imagine how fast you could make those with a machete a chopping block and a cane patch!
    You're right Jason, if the millions of people started living off the land all animals would be wiped out within a month and the forest would be bald after the first winter.
    Even the lakes and rivers would quickly be emptied leaving the abundant marine life of the seas as the last food supply for those with the skills and knowledge to obtain fish crabs oysters and shrimp for a few years after all other resources are long gone and hopefully by then they will have learned to grow huge gardens of food!

    Hello. I really like your videos and appreciate what you do! I’d like to see more information on an economic collapse like Venezuela had. I think that’s how they’ll kick off the digital ID and get everyone to buy into the CBDC thing that started yesterday. I really believe that there is a 5th column of chicoms that have come across the southern area and will be ready to strike very soon. Thank you!

    People have been eating pigeon for centuries and has only fallen out of favor in the last century or so. If you have ever heard of someone eating squab in an old book or foreign country then it was pigeon. Major reason why most major and long established cities have a large pigeon population was because of food, and of course being messenger birds

  • @frost8077
    @frost8077 Год назад

    My city has lots of plump ducks that look pretty good, and I've been told that people eat those already. Hunting them won't be hard when they walk up to people.

  • @williamfrye552
    @williamfrye552 Год назад

    If your going to eat pigeon which is PERFECT LY EDIBLE you should know . The younger the better and cook it medium rare, no more then medium or it gets tough. It is not like chicken which is what people generally tend to think. It dose not have to be cooked through and through. If possible it is good to get a breading pair and eat the youngsters if in a location where possible. Raise them like chickens, eggs are good also.
