Dear friends, Ana's and Jack are fine. The storm has passed but the storm's circulation is still causing heavy rain and flooding in many places. After the storm passes, Ana's and Jack will go find the bridge that was washed away by the flood. Hopefully, the bridge will be stuck near the farm and can be repaired. I know it’s so disheartening to see your hard work washed away and people advising you to rebuild further back up the bank. Since we don’t know the whole layout of your property, is there any chance y’all can clear the hilltop and level it off so y’all can be up higher and safer? If you have to rebuild anyway, it would be better I feel. At least move the animals and their pens up and further back too. I live where we get flash floods all the time and so people have had to do that in order to still live the way they wish out here. It’s Hard lessons learned but y’all will get through this and build even stronger than before. Also, you might consider clearing some of the flood debris further down once the river calms down so you can try to help prevent back flow into your property and structures. Idk if that’s possible or not but I feel it’s worth looking into. You may need to do that when it floods again since y’all were clearing debris on your property too. There is a tv show that is pretty informative that you may find helpful in your rebuilding efforts called, “Homestead Rescue.” They have helped homesteaders like y’all rebuild and do it in safer ways including building off of cliffs even for those living on rivers... It’s on Netflix. I hope you can watch it because I know it can help y’all. I hate seeing the animals die and y’all having to restart things so often. Don’t lose heart!! Y’all are amazing and just keep following your homesteader dreams ❤

Discretion is often the better part of valour. I really do believe it is time for you and Jack to focus your attention on developing your property further away from the river bank. If need be, pump water to your crops and fowl. Dig another pond, build another water filtration system, build chicken coops on higher ground, I have been very concerned for some time, watching you take massive chances and outlay much money and effort building too close to the river. I have been following your channel for a long time, and I have seen your hard work destroyed too many times. Making the same mistake over and over again is not wise or good business practice. Your personal safety is more important in times like this.💜
