I saw this on broadway and I did the show 2 times so I would say the second time I did it was when I was veruca salt even though I’m not spoiled in real life but I would say the first time I did it was when I was an Oompalumpa At STA At RHS And When I played Veruca Since 2017 I did it at Venture Hall With Venture Creative Arts But Yeah When I saw it on broadway I just had to cry my eyes out even Emma Plfaeffle Did A Good Job so did the other cast and crew well done
DJ Cummings They don't look good as kids. This play was originally created in london qhere kids play the roles. I think when there time is up lwt them get kids to play the role
agreed. i think the broadway people said part of the idea behind the adults-as-kids thing was not only so we'd root for charlie more as the only deserving child, but also because it's less horrifying to see these things happen to adult-children rather than actual children. not too funny to see an actual child /drowning/ in chocolate
CaptainQuirky then there's also why adults look funnier as kids. You can see it in "Epic Movie" (2007) where they made fun of Willy Wonka, Harry Potter and Narnia
this musical made me cry out of joy and anger. I have seen the west end version on youtube and that's what got me attracted to the musical in the first place. Two years went by of me anxiously waiting for it to come to broadway, and even though I loved it, and would have loved it even if it was terrible, I cried out of disappointment because it had and still has way more potential to be an iconic top of the charts musical. The set design needs to be changed, some musical numbers altered and swapped out (bring back JUICY! am I right?) and the characters need to have more of a relationship with each other. I hope that in the future they do accomplish these things, then they would be terrific.
During the show, was it only Jake Ryan Flynn, then both Ryans bow or all of them performed together in different scenes like in the closing performance?
The reason is they thought that kids wouldn't be able to play snotty and bratty the way adults can. It would be hard for the audience to hate kids but they can hate adults playing kids
Welp the Oompa Loompas are No secret now xD
I got to see it. personally it was amazing.

Well I like the idea it shows that charlie is better and deserves to win more it doesn't have to be like the west end

DJ Cummings every one complaing because the West End version had the kids played by kids and this is based off the West End play

I hope one of those boys got to keep the cane after the show was done.

Juicy wasn't actually good in my opinion.
I completely agree with this opinion
@@summerthompson7081 yah the Oompa Loompa who begins singing at the beginning sounds like Chuck E. Cheese
Ryan sell was also in Peter Pan 2 years ago and he was Charlie here

CHARLIE Y LA FÁBRICA DE CHOCOLATE
Now admittedly, the show was miles better when Sam mendes directed the west end version
Is it legal to record the curtain call?
BADPRODUCTIONS 151 yes

why can't the kids be kids
lol that has to be true
Letrell Disney because they wanted Charlie to stand out from all of the others.
Letrell Disney the kids die so i think they didn't want children playing children who die

They wanted to show Charlie's child innocence
