mmm i didn’t find that very funny or quirky or anything in that realm at all bc he was very visibly uncomfortable with the questions being asked :/
I think that Christian is kinda shy and you can really tell when he’s legitimately comfortable in an interview (with colella, the rest of the falsetto cast etc) and when he’s not comfortable in an interview because he seems sorta closed off and he’s also super private and protective of his personal life i.e. he has absolutely no social media but I still absolutely adore this man
I really enjoy stage actors. Most of them are so humble and thankful that they are given the opportunity to be on Broadway. What a nice man Christian is.

christian is notorious for being private, and Paul asked him questions that are inappropriate for anybody, much less someone who is known to not want to talk about his personal life. he just blurted out the questions about his father’s death, then asked him if he wanted to be a father, and then grilled him about sutton.
That’s not right :(
He did the same with ethan slater and talked about his mom who passed away I don’t see why personal questions are okay either.

Love him. I'm glad he didn't look TOO uncomfortable talking about Sutton like that, but Paul should maybe have shut up on that topic before Christian had to steer the conversation away himself. Bust Christian's just so classy, and he always comes across really well. I'd go see Falsettos in a heartbeat if I wasn't an ocean away.
I've seen other comments on Paul's interview style that are similar to yours. Asks the 'icky' questions about failed relationships or dead relatives, but I'm sure general topics are discussed before taping. I like Paul's style generally, but his interview with Joel Grey was really awkward at time, mostly because I think Joel didn't seem like he wanted to be there. Which is fair enough I guess. These interviews are part of the press circuit that are for promotional benefits of the product they are selling.
On a more fun(?) note... I'm in Australia, so Broadway feels like galaxies away from me.

You know, I love Christian but not this interview in particular. When Paul asks him about being friends with Sutton, I can tell that he is physically uncomfortable when he says “to take it back to Falsettos,” I know for a fact that he is a very private person considering he doesn’t have any social media’s so I find it wrong that Paul asked him that along with the question about his dad.
Yeah, it was very unprofessional of Paul. You could definitely tell that he was uncomfortable.

he actually has not been public of his sexuality. He has had multiple interviews where he says that his personal life is personal. I wouldn't say that he isn't, but I also wouldn't say that he is.

he’s definitely not gay, as of 2020 he mentioned having a girlfriend and he used to be married to sutton foster. however he’s said he wants to keep his personal life well, personal, and i feel like everybody else should respect that and not speculate on his sexuality if he’s made it clear he doesn’t want anyone to do so.
