Raf Simons S/S 99 "Kinetic Youth"

Presented in front of the geodesic sphere of Paris's Cite des Sciences et de l'Industrie, Simon's S/S 99 show stands in stark contrast alongside his previous collections. Infamous for his anarchic punk designs and graphics, "Kinetic Youth" took a sleek technical approach to presenting his youthful themes by focusing on tailoring. He pushed a silhouette, popular amongst ravers and club kids where the tops were lean and the bottoms were baggy. Raf would continue to use this silhouette in his later collections.
