- R32 became an alternative to R410A because it won’t deplete our ozone layer and its global warming potential (GWP) is only 1/3 of R410A, which makes it more environment-friendly. R32 is a slightly flammable gas and it can only be ignited by open fire. In general speaking, it is a relatively safe gas if it is treated in the correct ways.
