NILA MORTON is a 22-year-old singleton currently living in Greenville, South Carolina. Nila was born with Ullrich, a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy, and does not let her condition affect her day-to-day life. Nila told Truly: “I'm a very active disabled woman, I don't allow my disability to define me or hold me back. It just causes limitations and some challenges, but you know, I'm going to just keep going.” Nila is yet to find the ‘one’ and is excited to go on a blind date. “Dating hasn't been the best. But I do know that because of me being in a wheelchair, I will say that it causes a lot of men to feel insecure. It's just, it's just a life thing.” Nila is looking for a man who is open minded, has a good sense of humor and who she can have a really good time with. “I do like them nice and tall, not problematic and nicely built!” Will Nila find the man of her dreams?

People will never ‘see’ past the chair initially no matter what they say. I’ve been in a chair for 36 years since I was 15 and have many moons experience lol. But it’s the people who are honest and ask those very questions you might find inappropriate at first that turn out to be the best. I always want someone who’s got the respect to ask a question rather than make a determination ahead of time. You’ll learn that with experience. Guy seems ok but of course we all only saw sixty seconds of the date.
I don’t questions but it’s the inappropriate questions that aren’t cool. I deserve respect as well even as person in a wheelchair. Certain questions I don’t mind but I still set boundaries because I’m more than my disability. I want to share other things about myself too.

@@resilientgal872 no, there's no point in doing that if they're looking for a relationship and sex is something important to them. they can just be upfront about it and if it's not a possibility they aren't wasting each other's time and she can't try to twist it into them leading her on or something similar.

I do have my 2 nieces who are in wheelchairs, they are dependent on others, but they're so beautiful. I always pray for them to be loved, get that partner attention; yes because love is beautiful !!

I feel like there should be more dating apps for people with disabilities like hers to make it much easier to find good friends and a significant other
They exist but it’s not fun. You don’t want to be trauma bonded to someone because you share that. I have a chronic illness and I would never want to date someone who also has it because it makes my life very difficult. It would be too much to be with someone who also has one. I like that dating people not dealing with things takes you again from that. If that makes sense. Many people with disabilities and chronic illnesses don’t have any interest in dating someone who also has one. ☺️
@@EclecticElegance13 that’s not true I’m sure that some people with disabilities don’t mind dating others with disabilities of course not all people with disabilities feel the same way and a disability dating app doesn’t necessarily have to be people with only disabilities it can be people that are willing to date others with disabilities those people definitely exist and they love to take care of others 💯

Obviously I can’t speak for everyone. But I’m my experience, many people don’t also want someone in their situation. But there shouldn’t even have to be an app for people who want someone disabled, no one wants to feel fetishized

Nila, I have cerebral palsy and I live in Greenville too. I have to say that dating was difficult for me too, but now I am married with a toddler, who I can care for independently.

i think if an abled guy doesnt show up, its not a bad idea to explore another person with a disability even of a different kind so u can complement each other and it takes a LOT LESS effort to persuade them that you are "normal". Just worried that many guys could act friendly but never pursue and would be disheartening to have your hopes crushed too often. But this guy was awesome and seems naturally very warm. Just using "disorder" instead of "disabled" shows it is total unknown territory for him and people are scared of the unknown. Well on a good note: she was beautiful and made him laugh spontaneously a few times and THAT is a good sign. Keep hitting that spot and u can turn him around. Faith can move anything.
No one is saying two disabled people can’t compliment each other. Honestly we all may have something but many may not know. The point of the show is to not limit disabled people to only dating disabled people. We deserve to have our options open as well. Thank you so much for compliment ☺️

@MOFIM TV I never said disabled people aren’t normal. We are normal and human. I don’t mind dating someone who also disabled but since it’s more than disability, it’s not gonna always work. I get what you mean about the less effort but it much more than just being accepted. I’m saying disabled people shouldn’t be told to limited themselves to dating people within their group because we should fall in love whoever. Disabled or nondisabled.
@@nilanmorton yes I agree with you 100%. And I hope you understand that I wasn't saying that they should limit themselves to their own. Just that on the dating scene, they will have more options when they are open to date "all" and not focus on the abled group alone either. At the end of the day love can be hiding in one or the other group. Blessings
