I can’t even get excited for a switch 2, I know it’s going to be stressful and disappointing when I can’t one due to online bots and people camping out at my local game stores for days before release
@billy5688 Nintendo can definitely control that. Brick & mortar stores were not the issue, they were only allocated small amounts of stock. Sony & MS contolled how they sold the majority of their stock. Sony even talked about how for the first year, most of the units would be sold online-only after people complained they couldn't find them in stores.
Even as a big Mario fan, I'm absolutely burnt out on the Mushroom Kingdom at this point. It's clear Nintendo is just milking it to the point of saturation, and the lower effort games (still sold at $60) to pad the release lineup is killing me. Never thought I'd do it, but I just sold my Switch on Ebay to put towards a new GPU for my PC. Since I haven't played a game on Switch since Metroid Prime Remaster, and the Switch 2 is nowhere in sight, it was time to move on. For a company that repeatedly stressed not to screw up the transition from Switch like they did with Wii to Wii U, it sure seems like they didn't learn the right lessons to correct those mistakes.
@@IcyPolarBear369 There's no way. You can tell by the release lineup this year that they were winding down. Also, Japan's sales aren't reflective of North America & Europe. Totally agreed with you. No excitement but still hope that something shows up and blow our minds. I have been playing video games from more than 30 years, this 2024... is just weird! Something must happen if we want that amazing feeling come back again. You know is similar as super hero movies, they are moving down not because is a cycle ending, is because lack of goods scripts etc, looks like reduce quality to have more quantity have been what moves the industry but now you can see how is going with less expectations
Super Hero movies turned to garbage due to garbage writing, tons of BS like feminism/ women empowerment etc. Them over milking the franchise by launching stuff every year didn’t help either.
The new nintendo will be powerful. Like ps5 powerful. That is why it took longer than expected. Nintendo is known for it's next generation console to be one step stronger. This time the leap to a stronger machine will be more pronounced. The switch is a great succes for nintendo and they expanded on that for that reason. It would be great if it looked like the ps5 portable with a mat screen. Very curious about the new gamecards and it's packaging also.
You should've at least waited until the end of April to do this video since there are rumors about a Direct happening in April. About the indie presentation, the guy said it'll happen before the April direct and he SPECULATED that it could be in March, some indie dev said they are announcing a new game (published by Devolver) next week so the indie presentation could be next week.
Just because RUclipsrs are having trouble making content about the Switch (although a lot of GOOD RUclipsrs like Switch Up don’t seem to have any trouble at all) doesn’t mean regular people who play games as a hobby don’t have anything to play. You don’t have to play Nintendo only titles to have fun with the Switch. Unicorn Overlord is amazing, Kingdom Come is incredible, RTG85 says that South Park Snow Day is quality, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was great…there are so many smaller indie games that came out that I’ve really enjoyed and NSO gave us two Golden Sun games, Killer Instinct, Blast Corps, Mario Tennis and Golf on top of F-zero. The only people who have enough time to play through half these games are people who play games for a living.
2024 is the year of the backlog for me. We haven't got even a single game on switch that interested me. Compared to 2023 that I had FE Engage, Bayonetta Origins, Rain Code, Persona 5 Tactica, Octopath 2, Metroid Prime remastred. and RDR 1 on switch,.
In recent times, I've felt the urge to start stockpiling/rebuying retro consoles and physical games as the future gets more digital. I think in this lull of a year, I might throw some more financials at filling out a physical Switch collection a bit more, hunting down a Wii U, Wii and 3DS and physical games and turn 1 or 2 into emulation beasts. I'll get games like Thousand Year Door etc in passing. My Series X can remain an entertainment device (I actually hardly use GamePass).
Agree with you RGT. Its pretty bare bones until the supposed direct comes out in april. Ive been just going back to finish games i never finished or buying year 1 games that i missed and finishing those. Or going back on steam to play those games because im not a Nintendo fan
DAMN, I just looked. I got almost 80 physical games and any games with an end, I have not completed and we're talking some long ones too like all the Xenoblades, Zelda BotW, TotK, all Final Fantasy's. I still plan on getting Luigi's Mansion and Thousand Year Door and a Zelda WW / TP combo has to be coming. Many of course have multiple games on them too (TMNT, Sonic, FF X/X2, etc. I think I got plenty to do before I get a Switch 2. That will give me plenty of time to avoid scalping and maybe a new model. If it significantly boosts existing games, then I'll jump it sooner.
The backlog of games on my list is so big that I really don't care. I can go a whole year, even more, with the amount of games out there that I'd love to play.
My idea was that Nintendo was planning to release a new system early this year, but ended up having to push it back for next year and not having anything planned for this year. There’s scrambling to come up with small projects to fill out this year.
@@therealjaystone2344not true, the ps5 pro isn’t hyped up at all. It will undoubtedly be less successful than ps4 pro, and will be so much more expensive they wouldn’t be competing anyways.
You could look at it like, they're not rushing things and releasing crap and unfinished games like i get on ps5. I love my switch. It's probably the best handheld on the market.
It's not about a lack of excitement for the Switch for me, it's that I'm overwhelmed with games already and don't need any new announcements. I can't keep up with every release and have plenty to play until the next system launches.
Nintendo seems to have zero concern about what others are doing. They seem to have their own ideas and standards and work only on that. It seems to work.
Nintendo sucks it’s not the same everything good gets delayed they don’t have any real third party big games day and date releases because there systems are always a step behind graphically
A slow year is exactly what I need to put a dent into my backlog. I've so many Switch games that I've not even fired up yet. I'm quite happy to wait until 2025! Still hoping for Windwaker and Twilight Princess in 2024 though.
The issue is that the Switch is still so popular with kids and families. We have four in our house (1 OG and 3 Lites) and my wife is talking about upgrading and I am trying to hold out for the SWITCH NEXT (weird dream last night) and NOT buy an OLED. There are still people adopting and discovering the platform (strangely enough). That being said, we should at least have F-ZERO GX HD, STAR FOX ASSAULT HD, and the GCN Zeldas HD by now or confirmed for this year. If they do push back the next system to Spring 2025, then METROID PRIME 4 has to come out by November for the Switch 1.
I'm fine with what's going on with Nintendo, I have so many great games that I'm still playing through. I'm also really excited and optimistic about Nintendo's future.
I agree with you they need a major title to come out this year like it was great that they had Mario wonder come out right at the end of last year you know because it was a new take on something that people, love and tears of the kingdom came out right before that, so those were too big titles that came out for him. We still yet to see anything about any big titles coming out this year
I think in terms of CPU the Switch 2 should be able to beat the PS4 if it uses A78C cores even if clocked at the same speed. The Jaguar cores from 2010 are abysmal… they were designed to be used in low end Mobile devices at the time. Developers have struggled with them since the day PS4 launched.
Hey RGT shoutout from Australia would still like to see you eat some vegemite but I suppose I should stop creeping your videos so Iv'e decided to subscribe thanks for the upload have a good one haha!
The lack of new game announcements or momentum for this year's Nintendo line up makes about as little sense as Sony's and is just as concerning. It is not concerning because there are few viable games coming out, but because this shows a lack of confidence in the direction of the company for the next few years. Sony and Nintendo both have ups and downs in terms of production, and Nintendo can definitely drop some surprise releases. But neither company seems to have planned for this year. Even if the Switch successor was suppose to come out this year (or last year), then they would have some plans for more games for the current system and some games that would either be made for the current system and upgradable for the next or games that would target both on the way to market. Even if they were focusing on the new system and the release line up, there would likely still be some games that would benefit from being released during a "down" year where competition is light. Metroid is actually a good candidate for that, since it is a major franchise, but it does not usually get the spotlight it deserves when a Zelda, Kirby, or Mario is hanging around. In any case, the lack of planning/lack of enthusiasm is more than likely something that will hurt the launch of the Switch 2, just like it will likely hurt the launch of the PS5-pro and PS6. Maybe across the board flops will be a good thing in the end if it means we get a bit closer the end of consoles as we know them.
Plot twist. Next Nintendo console is actually still coming out this year. After TTYD remake we'll get a June Direct where they unveil the next console for a fall release

@@corey2232 Nintendo can't control that. Also do you forget that these brick and mortar stores that sell online and were the problem?
We’ve had 2 Mario games in the last 10 years
And yet the Switch is still selling like hotcakes. The Switch has a 10 year plan. Might not even hear about Switch 2 until 2026.
@@IcyPolarBear369 There's no way. You can tell by the release lineup this year that they were winding down. Also, Japan's sales aren't reflective of North America & Europe.
Switch is doing well - for a console going on year 8 - but overall sales are down from last year (which was down from the year before that).
@@corey2232 what if there is no switch 2? what if nintendo's been winding down because they're preparing for the end of the world and the second coming of Christ? like... miyamoto could be on his knees RIGHT NOW crying out to God to save him... begging Him to forgive him of his sins.
I’m sick of people complaining about Nintendo or the Switch, it’s still an amazing system and i haven’t had my Switch as long as everyone else but I’m still really happy with mine and Nintendo is the one positive I can take from a bad period in gaming,
We masters and remakes is a yet another reason why I love the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo.
My favorite Nintendo RUclipsr: Buenos Días All.
I agree it's a slow, dry year. I'd love for them to go full fan service mode and release TP/WW and MP2/3. That would make it a final landmark year for sure, even if they are older titles. That would be a great send-off
Nintendo RUclipsr (RGT 85)
They doing nothing... Oh wait, they're hiring dei people, that'll go well.
Is the leaker being Pyoro? or someone else?
Because i completely trust Pyoro's leaks all the time IF they are BIG announcements regarding to Nintendo.
@@courage1363 the same guy who said the Switch 2 was delayed
There's my favorite emulating Nintendo RUclipsr.
I'll accept it cuz of emulation. Lol
Exactly !
Mr Nintendo youtuber himself ladies & gentlemen 🤣
That’s a great idea, I wanna see a Digital Foundry graphics comparison of Endless Ocean Remake vs. The real actual ocean
Yeah Paper Mario Thousand Year door is the only game I’m getting for Switch this year.
We are in March, not already in November. Take a breath and let’s just see when we hear more from Nintendo.
You are Nintendos premier RUclipsr
I'm with you on everything you said RG hopefully they got something crazy to blow our top offs
My idea was that Nintendo was planning to release a new system early this year, but ended up having to push it back for next year and not having anything planned for this year. There’s scrambling to come up with small projects to fill out this year.
The ps5 pro is also launching this holiday season which Nintendo forced to delay it
@@therealjaystone2344not true, the ps5 pro isn’t hyped up at all. It will undoubtedly be less successful than ps4 pro, and will be so much more expensive they wouldn’t be competing anyways.
@@minecrafter3448 Nintendo hardly launch their hardware next to their competitor, regardless of the level of hype
@@therealjaystone2344 what competitors? Who are they competing with?
@@minecrafter3448 I thought you knew better than that 🤦🏿♂️
The Nintendo RUclipsr is back with another Nintendo video
Nintendo should hire this guy
Nintendo should hire deez nuts.
Ha! Nobody gets into the gaming industry business that easy. 😂
Nintendo RUclipsr
You could look at it like, they're not rushing things and releasing crap and unfinished games like i get on ps5. I love my switch. It's probably the best handheld on the market.
Just the natural dip for the entire industry that should be expected after such a bonkers 2023
It's not about a lack of excitement for the Switch for me, it's that I'm overwhelmed with games already and don't need any new announcements. I can't keep up with every release and have plenty to play until the next system launches.
Having a blast knocking down my GINORMOUS backlog.
I think everybody is on pause at the moment, waiting for the next Nintendo system to come out.
Nintendo is pretty quiet about stuff till they are close to release. I am sure Nintendo will announce more Switch games throughout the year.
It's funny that I watch Nintendo news from RGT85😂😂
They should bundle Luigi’s Mansion 1, with 2.
I'm fine with what's going on with Nintendo, I have so many great games that I'm still playing through. I'm also really excited and optimistic about Nintendo's future.
Fun fact, this year has more Nintendo published games than the PS5 has exclusives.
Why do u suck Nintendo off. Atleast use protection
@@DreamTeam-yz6ib I criticize nintendo way more than I praise them.
@stevenwasik3369Before that Sony kept gaming games be on PS4 as well.
Using this down time to roll out the collection
No point in talking about the PS4 know dude. By the time the Switch 2 launches we will have a PS6 lol.
Daily hit from my fav Dance Dance Revolution Arcade tuber
Hey RGT shoutout from Australia would still like to see you eat some vegemite but I suppose I should stop creeping your videos so Iv'e decided to subscribe thanks for the upload have a good one haha!
I’d love to see a good old fashioned E3 system announcement for the next console.
Nintendo is giving my wallet, a break, and an opportunity to catch up on my backlog of games.
Paper Mario duh
Easily my favorite Endless Ocean channel on RUclips. 👍💪💪
Plot twist. Next Nintendo console is actually still coming out this year. After TTYD remake we'll get a June Direct where they unveil the next console for a fall release
2023 was a slow year. I’m pushing 70 physical games for the switch plus a hand full of digital games. Three months into 2024 and there is nothing worth getting. Paper Mario and Luigi’s mansion I guess is something but I have them both on other consoles. I guess we’ll see if there is anything worth while comes around.
just F zero has already made 2024 the best year for me
Another day, another RUclipsr salty about videos not getting engagement.
If they are smart theyll price drop the og switch and leave the super switch for 2025.
Hopefully the April direct leak is true it's still a bunch of remasters and re-releases but it gives some people something new to check out.
