    " even in Bach"....that s quite amusing

    • @man0sticks
      @man0sticks 3 года назад

      Yes, given the fact that Bach, in his preface to the Inventions etc. stresses playing cleanly, and in a cantabile style. These were of paramount importance to him. Everything in music starts with the human voice.

    the most perfect sophisticated ideas about piano yet his own playing sounds terrible. The idea of creating legato by overlapping notes comes from Horowitz, yet Vardi tries to make his own without understanding how it works. The Horowitz overlap is a combination of touch, instrument, the acoustics of the room and most importantly the clever use of the pedal. No one can imitate this. Horowitz had his piano moved on the stage to different spots until he found the right acoustics and had that spot marked. After this many other pianists asked to position their piano in that same spot. Useless for them!

      WHY ??? this very negative comment,,,,,,why not just mention Horowitz also spoke about the overlap.
      Vardi does not sound terrible to my ear. He presented the concept beautifully and leaves the viewer to work on it.
      Many of the greats discussed the meaning of legato.

      @@josephhapp9 The difference between guitar forums and piano forums ist that guitar guys seem not pretentious and cheer up other people who play, even if it is not perfect. People in piano forums will bash you if they think it is not perfect enough, what you are playing. And also being snob. That looks freakish. Just cheer other people up, enjoy the music, give tips in a constructive manner and stay kind to other people

      As I am a beginner ist was not so obvious for me. If you are a genius you may be born with the faculty to read the music behind the notes, but the most of us have to learn it.
