Today, my eldest daughter, who is 10 years old, was complaining over putting the dishes away and picking up some things that were left on the counter and other basic chores. So I had her and my 6 year old and 5 old sons watch this. Their attitudes changes right away. They couldn’t believe there were children in other parts of the world that have to work so hard just to drink a dirty cup of water. We may not be able to change the world, but we are able to change the way our children think and teach them to have gratitude for the simple things we take for granted.

That doesn't always work. But at least it worked on yours.
Back in my day it was "there are starving people in China who would love to eat that food..."
      "Well ship it to them!"

It is crazy to be there walking along side them knowing we can go grab a bottle of water from the car, but they are going to drink what they just gathered from a dried up riverbed. That is why we continue to fight. We've met them. We know sweet Tarik & her family are like us & deserve to have their basic needs met. Thankfully, Tarik has clean water to drink now!
      Thank you for watching, Micah!

Thankyou for taking your time to travel and help but I used to wonder why we have no clean water while the blue Nile originates from Ethiopia. I wonder what is going on behind closed doors of developed world leaders. Egypt flashes unused water of blue Nile to Mediterraneann sea while our people drink dirty water and starve to death because they don't want Ethiopians to use it for anything. They have been lobbying against Ethiopian for centuries but soon things will change.

I was so moved by this, that right after watching it I had to fill a 5 gallon jug with water and carry it up a hill and back, the whole time thinking a 12 year old is doing this! in sandals, on loose rocky terrain... I was panting and sweating, and I am a 26 year old man!
Great video, thanks so much for it! Helps put my world into perspective a bit...

This is the video that keeps playing through my head each day as I walk on the Camino for my charity:water campaign. My walk is nothing compared to this. My pack is half the weight, ergonomically designed to be comfortable, there’s a shower waiting for me at the end of the day, …and I’m not 12. 💔

I got to spend a year leading humanitarian construction projects across the Horn of Africa.
The work included drilling water wells in Ethiopia and Uganda as well as building clinics, bridges & schools, the culmination of a 25-year military career.
    It was very rewarding.
    ====
I'm still amazed that this girl lugs 40 gallons of water up that mountain every day. I don't think, in my prime, I could have done it. Needs must, I suppose.

Then the translator, “You breathe like a woman giving birth.” The reality of when she arrived home, them drinking the dirty water is heartbreaking. My family is donating to this.

It is so hard to see women and girls traveling a long distance to fetch water which is not even safe and clean. I am currently working on a project which is about gender roles in water fetching in Ethiopia and I found that women and girls spend a substantial amount of time in water collection activities and face different issues, even gender violence while doing these practices. I think the government of Ethiopia should work for these people as it is essential for the girls to get their education on time and for women to get involved in community engagement and decision-making processes. Your video is amazing and I would love to share this video with my classmates.

I don't get why wasting time on that instead u could easily study how can to import water fountains near their houses so it's easier for everyone. over there men also work and try to feed their family. gender roles topics would be useless thereit isn't like America.

I made a humble donation and posted this video on my FB page offering that others might feel inspired to make a donation too 💖 How do their bodies survive? As the video states, they must experience illness often. It is amazing the extreme inequities in this world. And to think simply a collective choice could change it all.

Here... Read this... I am in the USA and recently because of the "Pandemic". Our Town/City put so many chemicals in our water, I am no longer able to drink them. We put in a 7+ Stage Reverse Osmosis (Had 3 before) and I am still unable to drink out of them. I also buy water from the Store, but the same thing. They treat them with UV Lights and Carbon Filters. Because of that, my Thyroid Gland blew up like crazy. Luckily, about 30 minutes away from where I live, there is a Natural Spring. Each time we go, we at least 15X 3-Gallons Bottles and fill them and pack them into our car and drive home. I am still young and my dad is getting old. I am NOT sure what happens when we get older and older. How are we going to carry our water?

I was asked to watch this by a teacher back in high school, and I’m glad I did. I really feel for these people in the documentary that didn’t have clean water to drink; but it’s good that they do now. But what about the other millions everywhere else?
Also, while well-intentioned, one does have to wonder whether this was all filmed with the citizens’ consent…if not, could this be considered exploitation of others who don’t have what we take for granted? There probably is one or two poor white families who don’t have any clean water either, not just in the developed world but everywhere else, too.
Regardless, I do hope that one day everyone has clean water to drink the world over. The corrupt jackasses need to pull themselves out of their palace and see what’s happening in the real world; we can’t finish this project alone…this costs money to accomplish (money that the rich have) and it adds up fast. Furthermore, I think everyone the world over needs to try to learn about this sort of thing; the more participants the world has, the faster and better the results will turn out.

Ok so my husband and I live on a boat and we were just complaining about having to go fetch water since it is November on the Chesapeake Bay and they just shut the water off on the docks and winterized for the season. So, I made him watch this!!! #1. We have a 20 gallon container AND a cart! #2. There’s a CLEAN city tap only 1/4 mile up the dock on land! #3. We have a 100 gallon capacity fresh water tank on board AND AN ELECTRIC PUMP (and electricity!!!)to fill it with! #4. We even have a hot water heater to warm it once it is on board!!! Moral of the story: DON’T COMPLAIN!!! My God, it could be SO MUCH worse!!! In about the same time it takes this poor girl to fetch a few gallons of dirty water each day... we have a warm (or cold), FRESH water for a WEEK!!!

    Hello
A commendable job and a wonderful channel as well. Do you drill water holes as part of charity work too? If yes, I feel I could use your help to get water to my people in Togo.
