I just finished a knife. It was a Damascus shokura knife I made as a wedding present for Sonny. It was a terrible amount of work as the power hammer failed.

Hi There, yes mate it kicked my ass for sure its been 8 months of various complications you think its gone and it came back hey ho. Yes alot of work without the power tools dont think I could go back to damascus with a hand hammer. Thanks.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell, but sounds like your over the worse and on the road to recovery. I shall have to go and check out "The veg plot" channel. Your right about what you say regarding supermarked veg. It is bland, crap and sprayed with poison!!! My veg plot at home is starting to grow, already had some nice salads from the plot.

Thanks Sandy, Supermarket veg is plummeting down into new depths mate don't know where it is sourced from now, I have always been well aware of the toxic nature of farming methods on food other people should really be aware. Will be following your garden plot for sure. Cheers.
Hi Loz , I know just what you have been through. It has made a huge difference to me that my wife has kept just the right amount of gentle pressure on me to get up and doing when all I wanted to do was to crawl under a stone and hibernate. I too am pulling through, but keep getting small relapses. I have been germinating seed and nut and raising trees to plant out - I need to fill 7 acres so it will keep me busy. Keep going fella and wishing even better health tomorrow
Hi Grizzly, Sorry to hear you have been through it too mate, its been 10 months since I had it, mostly over it now but it has left its mark with a brain fog now and then and more aches and pains than I had before but we are still the right side of the grass which is a blessing. Having the allotment has been the saving grace really and has got most of my fitness back and I love it out there more so than being stuck in the workshop. Also just started harvesting wonderful healthy food which I know will improve my health going forward. I'm rather jealous that you have 7 acres to play with though my dream space that is, but you keep plugging away it has worked for me for sure. All the best. Loz.
@@LozHarrop thanks for your kind reply. I do what I can when I can and fiddle about in the shed when I can't. Waking up breathing is a great start to every day. As my old man used to say ..... 'growing old is not for cowards' ;

Loz… I’m a budding new knife maker…. I’m an alcoholic in recovery. In my recovery I’ve become obsessed with knife making… do you sell any of your Damascus?? Or maybe some advice? Where do you get steel in the uk?? I can only do stock removal currently and all I can get is o1 tool steel but want to try all these other steels you talk about..
