I have a question @Saucy Sounds - I bought the SE-1 a few months ago and I love it, BUT, the manual it came with is very vague about how to layer all the sounds, percussion, etc. to make it sound like the songs in the demo. Do you have enough experience with it to give me some detailed instructions on HOW to put it all together? I'm finding, for instance, when I press the "chords" button, the entire keyboard starts to play in bass notes. Any clue why? I'm also unsure how to start percussion a few bars into a song, and not necessarily right at the start. I want to make friends with this amazing piano but right now, we're having a lot of irreconcilable differences LOL.
Excellent demo. I recent got a Casio Privia 1100 basically for the same reason. I was looking hard at one of these though. Thanks for the info. I may get one for my daughter.
Biggest advice I can give is to really master whatever you learn. Take the time to be able to play it well and over and over again without mistakes before you move on to the next thing
Very misleading review. It's easy to see that Donner sending you a free piano had a lot of influence on the results. I bought one of these, thinking it would be good, based on all the reviews I've seen. I've since noticed that all the RUclips reviewers on this had a piano sent to them for free. It sounds terrible, some of the notes were even off key. I can't imagine them sampling an off key piano, but they did. The action on some of the keys is much different than the rest. Some of the 'A' keys don't always work. I returned it after a couple hours and have since bought a Yamaha P-225. What a difference.
Sorry your experience was bad but this review is not misleading. I recorded the keyboard and played it bare and raw. It clearly sounds fine. Is it the best keyboard ever? Of course not but it’s a solid starter. Well now they have another keyboard that is a better beginner option, you can find that here. ruclips.net/video/y4T44zw0g1w/видео.htmlsi=ETZl9R4ruGp8p4EL
I'm pretty sure the DEP-20 is a step down from the SE-1. It doesn't have graded weighted keys. What good is it to buy a keyboard like this as a starter only to have to upgrade later (or when you realize how bad it is). Just get a good keyboard in the first place. @@ZacBarnesMusic
I bought a Donner SE-1 a few months ago (May 2024) and haven't had any issues with it as far as any notes being off-key. I haven't done any reviews either, and purchased it for almost $500.00 on amazon. I love the piano, but my only issue is that the instruction manual is vague in terms of teaching one how to layer all the voices and make it sounds like some of the songs in the demos. I'm sorry you had a negative experience with yours, but that being said, I did read that there were issues with delivery people dropping the keyboard and knocking it out of tune or breaking some of the keys, cracking the casing etc. Perhaps that is what happened with yours? It's just a thought of course, but my experience has been positive except for not having enough information on the functions.
