Hurricane Lee hit Nova Scotia with intense wind and rainfall warnings. We had planned a night away months ago to go Glamping in the dome at Breezy Petals campground. We knew we would have lots of time in the morning to pack and head back home before the winds picked up. Kiwi enjoyed his time outside, free flying and we were the only people on the campground.

Hi Tamara. You have a million + people worried about you and Kiwi. Can you just post a 5 second video that you guys are ok or not ok. Kiwi reacting to the hurricane: "Oh my goodness! What just happened?!" I'm always amazed that Kiwi can fly solo in long graceful loops and return back to Tamara. Either she trained him well or Kiwi knows which side of his bread is buttered! 😆🤣☺😎❣

Nice to see that Kiwi is so loyal and always comes back when he makes his rounds in the open, but personally I would be worried that he might be intercepted by a hawk at some point...
Yeah, especially in an area like that. One he's not familiar with. I don't know the area, but seems pretty irresponsible.
@@O1OO1O1 I don't want to spoil Kiwi and his owners' fun on his excursions and it is their business, but the threat of a quick hawk attack is quite realistic. Especially if he makes his flights more often in one and the same place.
@@philaugustus3937 yes. I support free flight. But it can be done intelligently. This seems downright risky. That's without mentioning relying on the scheduled time of a hurricane, so that one can go "glamping." Our society has descended to madness.
Yeah, I feel the same. Almost to the point that I am considering unsubscribing. Not to punish. Just don't want to be scrolling through and see the seemingly inevitable tragic video explaining what happened.
My sister lived in a wilderness area, the owls ,eagles, and hawks picked off all her chickens! Love tamra and kiwi but know the risk. Pray protection 🙏

Tamara..I've been with you from the start, to help you remember, I'm that bonehead painter that commented about a Year ago on the wall paint job, cut's first, roll 2nd!🙄😁 I truly Hope & Pray that all is well with you & your Family, & of course Kiwi too, I miss you all, & I could never put a price on all of the smiles that little Bird gave me. I remember one time I commented that I had a bad day at work, & Kiwi replied back to me with a Boop💙I'll never forget that as long as I live..Godspeed my Friend.
I'm glad you were able to enjoy your might of Glamping, get home safely. And only loose a shed. Kiwi looked like he enjoyed flying among those trees.

Especially, in the woods. Have a place in the country! Hawks,literally come out of no where(it seems) n will take a 🐇😢😢😢 🦉are sleeping and R chilling in the 🏝 just 2 risky 4 me! I never even left my Conure outside in a cage at the country for 1 minute! She ❤❤❤ being outside but never out of cage

kiwi died, tamara let him out. went from making vids 24/7 to making none, after she let kiwi free fly, probably got eaten by a hawk or another bigger bird
I'm amazed at how you could let Kiwi fly, and he comes back. It looks like a great place! I'm glad you survived the hurricane with not too much damage. We've been pretty lucky this year in Staten Island, NY, weatherwise, as compared to other places.

her channel has not been active for a month, and if kiwi was still alive tamara would keep uploading (like she’s always been doing) but guess what? she hasnt. *FOR A WHOLE MONTH.* which makes sense because people are starting to worry, i came back to this channel like a few days ago and there was nothing. there most recent video was on july (this year) i haven’t seen anything else. and after kiwi was let outdoors they disappeared. it does not take one to know the other
@@ivee.on_paws To be honest I've been wondering this myself. Her new video claims it was a busy year, and she said they were coming back with a bang, but sadly they haven't and it does worry me. If something did happen to Kiwi though, why not be honest with us😔

I hope things are better in regards to the fires. I'm in the Midwest of the US and we were really perplexed by all of the smoke that drifted so far south to where we are. After Tamara said the word camping, Kiwi copied mummy and said camping too 😃and watching Kiwi fly in the countryside was just amazing to see, Kiwi defo has the best family and the best life. The camping tent looked so beautiful at night with all the little lights, they sound like a great company being environmentally friendly and everything, i love that. That hurricane looked scarey, them big waves and the wind 😶
As a parrot owner myself of 15 years (we grew up together until I went to uni) you get to understand their nature - how they ruffle their feathers the way their pupils dilate; baby parrots that blush - every bob and whistle they make…. Kiwi is a very happy parakeet. I bet he is noisy though? My conure was noisy af. Once he “escaped” with clipped wings and flew to the top of the highest pine tree (in the rain) took all day to get him down -- didn’t realise how big this big room was and when he was at the top - got a bit scared. XD amazing pets but need a lot of love.
He bit me twice with intention to hurt (probably my mistake) - I bit him right back! He HATED babies and feet if he was on the floor he would chase and try and destroy feet…. and barked like a dog since he was raised in a pet shop. Miss Goldie 😢
I could never own another one - until I retire… leaving them at home all day isn’t kind. I guess if you have a pair they can annoy each other all day…
Always loved being tickled behind the ears and the palms of his feet.
Of course you panic when they fly away… it’s within their nature to look for higher ground - safe space. but they love you when they come back shivering and tired.

I love that he free flies and you haven’t clipped his wings. It makes me so sad to see birds kept in small cages, with little human interaction. This is what bird keeping should be, you only get out of them, what you put in. This goes for all pets. Thank you for being a responsible and wonderful bird owner.
