Hi from the U.K I heard a good tip the other day regarding control of thistles. Reseed with grass no clover then as the thistle grow the first season spray them hard then direct drill clover into the established ward.
A trick I tried with the kellys that seemed to work for us anyways was mowed then subsoiled in a grid pattern, mowed the regrowth and after that they was pretty much gone.
Ole mate once told me here in Australia 🇦🇺...were there is thistles there is fertility 😊

The out of season tally goes where it’s needed most 🤣🤣. I try and sell out of season ones for cash so it’s not written anywhere 🫣
