Ya doing a great job under pressure

What a difference the weather makes! It's either miserable and muddy or blissful and sunny. The calves were very funny to watch!
What about nitrogen poison?
@@jeffzimmers9301 ?
How many beets do you snow
How many sheep are there
On our farm?
Thanks for continuing to post new videos when faced with difficult conditions. Hope the next one starts with sunshine. Go well
Cheers mate.
Gday Big Fella. Reckon your theory re leaving them to lamb if they look progressed is good. Always difficult the more you have but it’s certainly something I do with my cattle. Intervention or getting too close when their busy is a last resort
100% mate. I've made the wrong call by driving away before, but not often.
Good video. 😀😀
Keep warm and I hope the snow does not last too long!!
Hardy folks down south
I feel for you guys ,you don’t need bloody snow at lambing, all the best going forward
Cheers mate
I forgot to mention but I've seen rotovirus go through calf sheds and it causes caos Your wife did a fantastic job sorting it out quickly and not losing anything, that's bloody impressive and the calves look great
@@karlmorgan3678 cheers mate, yea it bloody sucks alright.
the jacket idea is brilliant
Have you still got your land rover Ben? If so can u bring that beast out please
I don’t mind the just driving around talking about what’s doing, it’s my favourite thing to do anyway 🤣🤣 How old are the calves when you get them? I sell all mine to rearers at min 2 weeks old, at double the market price, but it’s worth it to them to pay it as the cakves are out of the death zone.
The place looks sodden, hoping for some fine weather for you guys Ewes and lambs look good though, tough buggers
Cheers mate, the work done the 8 months prior to lambing is paying off 👌. Snow forecast tomorrow now.
Hi 👋 from Ireland 🇮🇪 keep up the great videos
Cheers mate.
You are in for a rough week of weather. All the best for you, family and stock. Finished our docking/tailing. All seven lambs!!
Sure looks that way. Snow tomorrow now 🤦♂️
Hoping for the best with the weather. Do you know the cross of your calves?
@@timmo645 Cheers mate. Predominantly fresian but with some jersey in them cows, and AI belgian blue straws.
😁👍
Good content team love seeing the calf’s out and a little blue sky, fingers crossed for a bit of good weather

Interesting feed situation I guess I'd rather have the feed and have to top to keep quality later on than risk running myself into trouble if September turns ugly to I liked the crop discussion, ever thought of cropping for the summer months and potential dry spells?
@@karlmorgan3678 did you see the maize we grazed 18 months ago? The general consensus is we'll do that again when bad La Nina is forecast. Southlands the opposite of the rest of the country, we're generally the most summer safe region. But have the longest, coldest winters. Thats where our feed deficit is. 3-5 months of not growing as much as we're demanding. Gotta have enough stock on to control feed in November and March though, after suppliment is made.
@@karlmorgan3678 its worth noting too, that if we have a drought we still have winter. In the 2022-23 season we grew less than demand for 8 months 😬
Also got horrendously sick of cast ewes and especially the ones dieing damn near instantly. Invested in a drone a few years back and never looked back. Massive time saver.
A very good rant which connected the dots on winter feed and sheep performance and welfare. Keep the good videos coming
Cheers 👍

I like the fact winter cropping is doing two jobs winter feed and pasture renewal it's a good system. It would be interesting if you did a few test strips this year with direct drilling to compare yields obviously that means spraying off but what's the lesser of two evils I suppose. Do you do any NPK and trace minerals on your pasture or only lime and urea place looks great.
Yea, the lesser of 2 evils is a mix of both 😅. I think theres enough DD happening around for me to stick to ploughing alone. We know DD carries an averave yield drop, with higher highs and lower lows (its higher risk down here). We do soil test, and aim for an olsen P of 32, pH of 6-6.2, and need to start looking at Ks, S is always good. We look at those as feeding the soil, to feed the grass. Can also be used as a bank, helps a little with tax burdens (not that tax is an issue right now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣), and then use urea to fill forecast holes in a theoretical (in my head) feed supply/demand graph.
Hi i like your video
Jabbing that many ewes in a day I think I might have started on the Speights 😂 Great intro and that conveyer is awesome
Are the old girls in lamb to Romney?
Yep, they sure are.
Yea on the hand piece
Possibly could, tracked down a new one for $20
Can you drill the hole out and rethread it

Those ewes are looking amazing! Great stockmanship too, a lot better than me 😅😬.
@@HillCountryFarmer cheers mate, they've dropped off a bit the last 2 weeks. Not sure on that either 🤣🤣🤣👍
Never regret getting a conveyor!! I still do my earlies but they come in to bang out the rest. 3000 in a few hours with very little stress and fuss. I’ll never go back to doing them all myself
Watch out for the next video!
Woooooho! Gone upmarket!!! Auckland trendy???
Logo and intro look great 👌👌
Hope the weather is kind to you for lambing ,we have had it a bit wet in the the top of the south
