Hoping the next big tournament is 2v2 for a few reasons:
1. There's no tournament meta for DE team games.
2. More competitive games, hate to say it but viper still wipes the floor in 1v1 as NaC and HC have shown.
3. There are so many new combinations and unique team synergies that it's be great to see experts play around with.
3b. We might get to see some of the less popular civs, especially if the format is something like 2 pools.
4. 2v2 don't tend to devolve into the 3v3 or 4v4 grinds you sometimes see as much.
5. 2v2 has maybe the best balance between co-ordination, meta- and individual skill.
6. Vilesse TC drops.
7. As Dogao showed in HC top 32-ish are close enough in skill to get 16-ish viable pairs. Certainly 8. Maybe there's scope for something like 6 seeded and 8 pairs play for 2 extra spots or something.

@@christiansvenjimmiekarlsso1876 Even if they are OP and I'm not convinced that nerfed Spanish trade has kept up with the speed of the modern game and overall power creep, (It's a great bonus but it doesn't kick in until minute 35) that's still only one civ out of ten you'd need for a 2v2 BO5.

I don't feel bad for them. Of course they get crushed after a few minutes, but they played against some of the best players worldwide. That's something nice :)
It would be great to play against viper and daut
While without a doubt, they will get crushed beyond repair with these big two, it would actually be a great honor and experience to play against them, no matter how trollish the strat they might pull off, because they will make you "try".
I was really impressed by the performance of DauT! The last months he has been playing quite well, hopefully in the future others will see that the lord "is back" and stronGG

Imagine queueing with your buddy and you are both pretty good in aoe but then you run into viper and daut who both pick goths.

For a team game competition rank #1 and #16 should be team one, #2 and #15 are team two and so on. Also you could have it set it up as two groups of 4 teams each. Every team faces off the other three teams in its group twice, once at "home" (choose map) and "away" (other team chooses). Best two from each group go to seminals. Winner of group 1 faces 2nd place in group 2 and vice versa. Thoughts?

If my team game rating and 1v1 rating are similar to these guys they're about 1200-1250 1v1 rank which puts them about 2000-2500th in the world.
Why do you like to pick yellow instead of orjange?
I haven't played this game in ages, but it didn't really seem like they needed to surrender. They already had their archery ranges up - had they quickwalled to protect their wood villagers and got a few archers out, you and Daut would be playing catch-up economically.
Then again, playing against you and Daut is a bit of a tall order at the best of times. gg.

Red wouldnt have had resources to make archers. And in the meanwhile were constantly making vils so they would always be economically ahead.
Daut & Viper had 66 combined villagers while red and yellow had a combined 55 villager high, in addition to this a number of those 55 was killed in the raid and a large chunk of them was idle. So red and yellow would have to play economic catch up with a goth army in their camps. Seems like a tall order to me.
Hey Viper only NOOBS go for the Goth Drush strat. When you get a bit more confident at the game you should try Goth archers or scouts or trush or TC drop. Or if you REALLY want to impress me you should go Goth Fast Castle and boom. It's all about the element of surprise. Nobody expects the Goth Monk Rush.
