6:58 pm. I am absolutely amazed at the abilities of modelers such as you. I am an artist(sculpture) and created a piece that I felt captured the essence of sailing. This piece did not express the hull but instead, the power and beauty of the sails. I’m not sure how a modeler would accomplish this but it would add so much to the beautiful work you do.

I just built the jolly boat for Bounty and have the main ship to build soon. I always read background and history of all ships I build, and have so much literature on HMS Bounty and Captain Bligh. It's all fascinating and I get better 'feel' for it when building. I'm starting a fishing schooner now from 1902 and just constructed the bulkheads to keel. Lots to do and loads of joy and enlightenment. You are a real pro and be proud. My best.

Amazing details. I have always since a young child had an affection for the Bounty. Probably because I think Captain Bligh had a bad press over the years. He was arguably one of the top three navigators in History. His feat of navigation was nothing but amazing. I have read many many books and accounts about the mutiny. It would appear from the consensus of opinion that he was not such a strict Captain. But he was a perfectionist. There were many Captains in the Royal Navy far stricter than him. It was stated in the film, (Hollywood licence) Wo betide the Helmsman who’s wake was not arrow strait! A helmsman on a Royal Naval vessel at that time would need no reminding from the Captain about steering a straight course. They would never let their standard drop to a point where the Captain would intervene. They were more experienced at steering than the Captain. Or Sailing master.
However.I digress. This young ladies modelling skill of ships, is just amazing. I wish I was a quarter as good. I love this Channel. Long May she continue to amaze us with her skill.
