Okay, had mine for a week now and after seeing this review I expected to take it back, first of all it looks amazing, it’s thick metal and it’s built like a tank, even the crumb tray is heavy metal and thick chrome and controls look and feel amazing. I tested with 2 slices of thick Pittsburgh famous Mancini’s bread on level 3.5 and it was evenly dark brown on both sides and it did large bagels perfectly also, it’s operation is so cool and smooth along with pleasant sounding alarms that I’m beyond impressed. I paid $400 I’m not rich, I remolded my kitchen and used all KitchenAid appliances and ordered these countertop appliances to compliment everything and it all looks & functions great!
K, so not everything kitchenaid is top of the line Like 5 kitchenaid appliances are really good That being the stand mixers, the 5 speed diamond blender, the immersion blender, the hand mixer and the slow cooker
@@jjb0894 No, it's still funny. Besides, it's not entirely wrong, as there would certainly be a measurable number of people interested in buying it then that don't really care about it much now...
GMAN……I have my parents Sunbeam T-35 automatic toaster which sounds similar to what you’re describing. My mother got it as a wedding shower present and it outlived her! Now it’s in my home and yes, it still works flawlessly.
What is your problem ? Kitchen Aid products are expensive because they’re simply are THE BEST and just because you probably can’t afford any, there’s no need for such a negative review .... and by the way, everything you say is absolutely false, I do have that toaster and it’s perfect 😡
shes a bit pricy i have the 2 slice version that i bought in a xmas sale was still expensive though i expect it to last for years-Already have it 4 almost impossible to burn toast with it at a discount price for the 2 slice- i recommend it at full price -naw 500 for the 4 slice forget it
I have the Cuisinart toaster that he recommends in this video and it's junk. I've had to return it 3 times cause it doesn't heat up all the way and the last one I had started on fire. Literally flames coming out the top. Just received my replacement of the one that started on fire and this one doesn't work either so back it's going. Seriously how hard is it to make a toaster that actually works???
I will agree.....500 bucks is outrageous for a freaking toaster. And I'm pretty sure they ripped off SunBeams design of their radiant toasters mechanism from the 50s and 60s. So,.........yeah.
This is the best video EVER! This guy needs to take it down a notch, as this is bordering on pornography. This guy loves toast, and toast makes him splurge... All over the kitchen counter.
we didnt see the full cycle at all in this video review, we are all just taking your word that it didn;t toast on a given setting. i don't believe you cnet. stick to telling us about biden stimulus payments and we can get this toaster for ourselves and give you a proper review.
I bought this toaster years ago, one side of the toaster stop heting due to a internal resistance failure, I called this morning the technical service in Peru and the answer was incredible " Sir, Kitchenaid doesnt´t offer spare parts for this appliance and you should buy a new one" this is is an answer i didn´t expect to hear....I have several kitchenaid appliances at home and I´m afraid about this....@kitchenaid ,
About time someone has the BRAVADO to criticize an OVERPRICED product. Way to go Cnet for getting a guy who will stand up for COMMON SENSE and not sell us this thing with a SMILE on his face at the same time telling us the price is worth it. I bet you could find your Grandma's toaster from the 1950s that looks just like this one for FREE.
I wish I had seen this video before buying this dumb product. He is correct! Not only is it obscenely overpriced, it DOESNT TOAST. I've run thicker pieces of bread through the machine twice, on the highest setting, and it wasn't even slightly brown. Garbage. Returning it today.
Of course it is expensive but has still the best design. It is okay to pay for a good design. Problem is just that the toast result is not the best. So sorry.

This guy reviews Toasters. Let that sink in...
Lel
He's not reviewing a PS4 or an Xbox One, what are you talking about? He's reviewing a kitchen appliance ;-)
I just watched a review on a toaster, what am I doing with my life?... :-/
Make that two of us lol
What are you doing!?!? I just read a comment under a toaster review!!!
I bet if it had an Apple logo on it they would be flying off the shelves.
or Dyson
That's funny, except it's not because Apple provides tremendous value with their seemingly high price tag.
Hahahahahahah
Itoast
Keeps the toast warm for you

I'M STILL USING MY SUNBEAM RADIANT CONTROL TOASTER FROM 1960, STILL FUNCTIONS PERFECT & LOOKS ALMOST NEW.
GMAN……I have my parents Sunbeam T-35 automatic toaster which sounds similar to what you’re describing. My mother got it as a wedding shower present and it outlived her! Now it’s in my home and yes, it still works flawlessly.
Brilliant review. I just watched a review of a toaster... and enjoyed it. This dude should be doing all your reviews.

I got that toaster at the Goodwill for 5 bucks
My toilet paper holder is $499. Cheaper than this expensive toaster. :)
For $40 get a four slice toaster from Cuisinart from Costco. I have had mine for six years and still works. It's in white color with chrome inserts.
I'll stick with my 100 year old toaster. It may not have all the bells and whistles on it but it sure can make some damned good toast.
This is my favorit toaster
what did it cost i didnt catch the 500 times you said it
It looks like an airplane, but toasts like... an airplane.
shes a bit pricy
i have the 2 slice version
that i bought in a xmas sale
was still expensive though
i expect it to last for years-Already have it 4

forget it
How the hell did I end up here?

My $10 toaster has every single feature that I want
SO WORTH
we didnt see the full cycle at all in this video review, we are all just taking your word that it didn;t toast on a given setting. i don't believe you cnet. stick to telling us about biden stimulus payments and we can get this toaster for ourselves and give you a proper review.
Mitsubishi's toast maker looks dank @$300
500$ for a toaster .. MY CAR IS NOT WORTH 500$ AND MY OLD 1940ISH TOASTER IS A SUNBEAM MAKING 0 SOUND IT TOAST BREAD PERFECTLY UNDER A MINUTE .
I love how mad this guy is at this toaster, haha.
Probably the best toaster review out there. Good job I want to see more !
Wow $500 I would not buy it even if I were wealthy. I get my toaster from family dollar for $10 if it breaks after a year I get another one for $10
I bought this toaster years ago, one side of the toaster stop heting due to a internal resistance failure, I called this morning the technical service in Peru and the answer was incredible " Sir, Kitchenaid doesnt´t offer spare parts for this appliance and you should buy a new one" this is is an answer i didn´t expect to hear....I have several kitchenaid appliances at home and I´m afraid about this....@kitchenaid ,
If you want a decent toaster that will last a lifetime you need a Dualit Classic.
Brilliant video! Hahaha!!!! I'll buy 4 please lol!!!!!
why are u even reviewing this!!!! come on man...
I can buy a Hatco commercial toaster for $200 less than that.
Cnet is way into toasters today.
I'll keep my Sunbeam T-35.
This is a cool review..
Love honestly
I just had breakfast and made toast.
CNET, why suddenly put toaster videos?!
Doubles as a time machine?
Ummmmm.... No! Never. Not gonna happen. If you're willing to spend $500 for a toaster, you have too much money.
hahahahaha $500 for a toaster
Am I really watching a review of a toaster?

From bulb reviews to toaster reviews, please don't do blow driers, I'll be over at the verge and MKBHD, 2 aching some tech stuff
This is what cnet needs.. no BS presenter, put him in tech revs and he will knock the hell out of them all.
Cnet why?
Hey, if the toaster was free, would it still be worth getting?
$500!?
i dont get it are you trying to sell it or not sell it??
This is a rich man's WTF toaster.
