I went to Plymouth in summer 71, I was 17 years old and I stay with a host family in 72 Warren Ave. It was the Best experience in my life. I knew must of the Best important places and I think Plymouth and its People are the Best. I'm from Mexico and I'll never forget to Delbos family, my family.

Interesting to see a "new Plymouth " I live in the "old Plymouth " here in the UK the original city where the pilgrim fathers departed in 1620 aboard the Mayflower.

Thanks for checking out the video! My daughter visited Plymouth UK in 2019 with her high school marching band. The Plymouth UK band students welcomed the Plymouth US students with open arms. It was so great to see the comparisons between the two towns! It was especially cool to see a Plymouth UK resident driving around in a police car that looked exactly like the Plymouth US police!

Reasons I live in Plymouth MA:
    1. Tornados are extremely rare in Massachusetts, the worse we have gotten are a couple waterspouts, and tropical storms, (last hurricane that hit us was hurricane Lee, when it smashed into the south shore before heading up to Maine).
    2. Don't have to worry about that many college students, the only college we have that I know of is Quincy college in Northern Plymouth.
    3. The fact that ever since the Pilgrim Nuclear Powerplant shut down, when they attempted to dump over 1,000,000 gallons of radioactive waste into the harbor, a lot of residents from our town chanted "Shame on Holtec" (the owner ever since the plant shut down). Now I don't have to worry about getting contaminated from rdioactive waste!

Great video! I am from that area (Carver) and moved to Charlotte, NC about 16 years ago. I miss Plymouth a lot. I admit taking it for granted when I lived there but often think about moving back.

Usually when you think of “Plymouth” you’re thinking of one small part of the town along Route 3A from Plymouth Beach to where Samoset St crosses over, that’s all the historic stuff. The best hidden gem parts of Plymouth are Manomet and the Ponds. Great places to grab a Vrbo and relax. If you don’t like walking up and down large staircases Manomet may not be your vibe though, as the beach is accessed by large stairs that descend the bluffs.

Thanks for the info - completely agree on Manomet and the Ponds. White Horse Beach is on the northern side of Manomet and has great beach rentals!

We lived on Brookside Ave in Plymouth (if you lived there before 2001, we were the house with all the Christmas lights.) for many years. We moved to SC in 2001 because we were tired of all the snow, to much traffic and thought it would be better, climate wise. Now that we're older and retired we want to move back to be closer to family that still live in the area (hello, Sue Correa 🖐️). Unfortunately, our only income now is SS and my Army retired pay. Don't think we'll ever be able to save enough to move. Plus the cost of living would be a bit higher there. Looks like we're stuck here for now. 😔😎🇺🇸

Sorry you can't move back! I've been in Plymouth since the mid-80's and have seen the town grow. Hopefully you'll be able to find your way back someday!

is Plymouth a good second house location? I live in Boston and is looking for a weekend and summer getaway house with my family.

    • @LivinginPlymouthJenSylvester
      @LivinginPlymouthJenSylvester  Год назад

Because of the extensive coastline and easy access to the highway - it's definitely a great weekend/summer getaway location! Plymouth has many ocean communities and pond communities - it just depends on what your expectations vs your budget. Feel free to message me direct so we can chat offline👍🏻

Purchased a retirement home on a pond in 2020. Been to 32 countries and have travelled extensively in the US. Plymouth is a world class hidden gem that is beautiful all four seasons.
Think of forested Sweden with the coolness and tolerance of Holland and the efficiency of Germany small town government in one of the most sophisticated cultured states in the country.
Taxes are low compared to NY / NJ.

Weird, my comment I made here awhile ago is gone. I didn't delete it. It was about my personal planned reason for moving to Plymouth, Massachusetts from South Carolina. I told my personal reason was a beautiful wiccan witch friend of mine and why I need to go to her home state and city. But someone didn't want me telling about my friend's bio and personality here.
All I was doing was telling why I love her so much, I be willing to move to to her city in MA.
But I guess if you live another state like me and have a beautiful friend in Plymouth, MA, and so talking about your friend and in personal reason for moving to Plymouth, Massachusetts isn't allowed here on your channel's comments section under any video??
But making short comments here is allowed? Weird. But nice looking city though. Must be less noisy, leas crime and less trouble.
In SC, its very crime infested and annoying here, police, EMS, and fire departments hardly catch a break because of too many dumb people committing same crimes over and over again, and different new ones, then they do same new ones over and over.
