I believe that Markiplier deserves this award much more, even if it doesn't carry any other value than appreciation. I have no hate against Dream and it's not his fault for this blunder. This was my first Streamy Awards show and will probably be the last. Out of the two hours I only enjoyed around fourty minutes. Matpat carried this like a titan and I enjoyed every second of his appearance.

@@hyperflame7255 It is serious, not necessarily the fact that Dream won over Mark, but that there is THIS MUCH of a disparity between the community and the people at the top making the decisions and then speaking for all people. When things like this happen resentment breeds in the community and people start scrutinizing minor things that then become a big causes of uproar. The Streamys may have only made one misstep, but one misstep can lead you tumbling down a cliff that can be hard to crawl back up from. It damages the community, viewership, and the credibility of the Streamys and future Streamys.

Bro how, dream barely posted content this year + he grooms minors💀(not actually confirmed but he is still known of cheating which surely means something) and mark posted hundreds of hours of high quality entertaining videos while also working on a movie. Not only is he obviously more qualified of winning the award but he's an overall way more likeable person.

It kinda sucks when the Streamy make awful choices like this because it hurts the credibility and reputation of the Streamy. I mean I get why they don’t do community votes because then the biggest streamer would win 9/10 times but when they do something like this it turns the whole community turns on them. Maybe for the next one there could be some sort of middle ground where the community can have more influence but not complete control? I don’t know but I feel like after this, there HAS to be some sort of change or the Streamys are just going to become another award show that people stop caring about because they don’t feel like the choices are indicative of what the majority of people think. I kinda feel betrayed after watching the stream and getting to this part, so much so that I immediately closed the stream. Once again this sucks hopefully things will be better next year…
This oddly reminds me of the voting election year where one candidate won a majority of the popular vote, but still lose due to the electoral colleges' vote.

I noticed there are a few people calling Dream a groomer. Before I go any further, I know there are those who will accuse me of being a Dream stan for the following content. Yes, I used to be part of the fandom until his take on doxxing.
With regards to the grooming allegations, the drama was all over the place, and it’s never been proven that he actually committed those crimes. Adding on, it’s not his fault he won the Streamy Award, he even mentioned he didn’t think he would win it. Thus, I think it’s unnecessary for leaving hate comments, and condemning him as a groomer without any confirmed evidence.
However, I strongly agree Markiplier should have won the award. He made many of variety gaming content, including a horror movie based on the popular indie game. Now, I don’t hate Dream, and he did work hard for his career. I just feel he barely uploaded his own content since the face reveal.

Here is my opinion, i like dream but, mark or Aphmau should have won because Aphmau she uploads videos every day and mark has more then 3 gaming videos. Now is dream is a gamer? Yes.
