I really like the commentary done by Earl Strickland on these European tour matches,But,this guy was very good.Different, but good. Shane’s opponent was very good as well. He is an example of the hundred or so as good or better than him, and why the Euro’s have been winning the Cup so consistently. After we won so easily at first, the Euro’s went to work, with organized training and then the European Tour. As for us, we fell apart after the Camel Tour went belly up.(no fault of ours) The only person doing anything for the U.S. pool scene was Mark Wilson and his University courses in the Billiards Games. He told us,and he told us,and he told us. It just seemed like no- one cared. At least not enough to do something about it. We have had such a poor record with Professional Pool Tours, even the capable players were Burndt out. Now I wonder if we could even man enough Good instructors for the two or three or four schools it would take to really make a mark in the current Pocket Billiards World! TAKE A LOOK , Every country on earth is kicking our bums. Find Jim Rempe,Nick Varner, maybe Johnny Archer, ….. Wow , that’s all the names I can think of that may be available to be instructors. Jerry Briseth , probably could help, but he is pretty much retired, as are Rempe and Varner. Of course it doesn’t take a Top player to be a good instructor. And being a Top player does not make a decent instructor. Oh well, The big problem is probably Money! adios
At the end it was 9:8 for SVB. I believe they keep scores by themselves but we couldn't see them in the video. Though the person who did the video editing made two mistakes.
Don’t worry; Shane knows the correct score always. The other guy probably knows too. Neither of them has access to what we see on the screen, so they did not know the screen was wrong,or they probably would have said something. The guy editing knew something was wrong early on, but then he made a mistake later on. Hard to find good help these days.(ha-ha )
Wasn't the very first break of the match illegal in that only two balls went past the head string? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the three-point rule or does Shane have to call it? Otherwise it doesn't matter?
You’re probably talking about an illegal break. Depending on the rules, you have to score certain points to stay on the table after a break. Usually the minimum you have to do is pocket one ball and have two in the square or pot two balls to stay on the table.
After an illegal break, and it's passed back, is there still a push out? I don't know what year this was, but it seems in the recent Derby Classic, there's no push out after the pass back. You have to take the shot. But idk
To Roger Scott, I don’t know what year either but this is the Euro Tour and they are the originator of the illegal break and it was different rules than what we use here. I do believe the push portion was different. Don’t know for sure but I think they have changed to our way currently. But this is quite a while ago.
What a mess of scoring & editing! Bottom line, SVB wins 9-8, as follows: At 6:05 P wins #1 - P=1, S=0 At about 6:15, _during the fast-forward_, S wins #2 - 1-1. On-screen score stays wrong after this. 13:50 P wins #3 - 2-1 16:50 P wins #4 - 3-1 19:07 S wins #5 - 3-2 23:14 S wins #6 - 3-3 25:59 S wins #7 - 3-4 31:23 P wins #8 - 4-4 34:49 S wins #9 - 4-5 41:11 S wins #10 - 4-6 47:09 P wins #11 - 5-6 49:50 P wins #12 - 6-6 1:01:46 P wins #13 - 7-6 1:05:52 S wins #14 - 7-7 1:11:58 P wins #15 after S misses 9-ball - 8-7, but on-screen score gives win to S (making up for missing rack 2, but now short-changing Piotr) 1:13:40 S wins #16 - 8-8 1:20:52 S wins #17 - 8-9
Lighted signs flashing on and off at the players eye level? Really? Also, the three point rule is nonsense. I've seen top pros (Strickland, Reyes, Van Boening) shatter the rack and lose their turn because of it.
When you put to many rules in pool you lose the spirit of the game old school people could play it like chess but now they want to add rules that makes the game go fast good for tv good for sponsors in the end it’s all about money and the sport is worse for it.
Wow. Kid played SVB all the way to the end. Great job.
I noticed a glitch in the scoring department, too…maybe we all missed something wrong earlier???!!??

1:11:29 Better start here and re-evaluate the scoring till the end...8 - 6 doesn't mean SVB gets even at 7 - 7 when the score was 7 - 6...
That jump on the three was pretty cute 😮
nice above shots

I think the 2nd game was skipped, so SVB was missing 1 point
Then it mis-scored that late round
so I think it was 8-8 going into the final frame
The announcers have to know that Shane is breaking on the 2nd game, 4th game, 6th game etc. so score was off from early on.
Kudlik didn't scratch the white ball, I wonder how SVB got level after the set
You’re probably talking about an illegal break. Depending on the rules, you have to score certain points to stay on the table after a break. Usually the minimum you have to do is pocket one ball and have two in the square or pot two balls to stay on the table.
Shane pocketed the nine in the fast rack (rack 2).
Yes, scorer missed that.
video is poor hard to see the ball numbers
Did the missing second game ever get put in the score?
What cue is Shane playing with? Doesn't look like his usual Cuetec.
Same cue, the old wooden shaft.
I thought Shane looked young---it's from 2017!
Yeah, the wooden era

The changing adversting signs are very annoying
What’s the music in the background? Someone playing Street fighter or Super Nintendo? Lol
7-7 already felt like hill-hill
you need better video quality
Something is wrong with the score.
Yeah, that scoring was questionable throughout the match but good on SVB in that one.
so... you get all the time in the world
When kudlik lead 7 - 6 against SVB, kudlik pocketed 9 ball but svb got score 7-7😅
I saw that too. I thought they would fix it but they never did

1:13:40 S wins #16 - 8-8
1:20:52 S wins #17 - 8-9
even a 5yo cell phone would produce a better image than presented here.

Im sorry, but your commentary is a bit condescending for someone who is not at the table and a never was quite at their level.
piotr pot the ball and shane got the point?
Weird, agree. Something is wrong.
