I've never heard of Terry Allen. He sounds great though as I love the Texas singer songwriters. If I'm lucky enough to find anything of his, I'll be sure to grab it.
I think you'd get a kick out his work. If you're thinking of Townes or Guy, though, it's not that. The Panhandle has its own way of doing things, even by Texan Standards :)
