      I love that Rob came back. But many were the Ripper years transformational. Imagine if he were still there. It doesn't even sound like Priest. But it wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
      Big fan of Rob's solo work, but only one album really sounded like not-Priest.

      @komischerkauz 3 года назад

      @@schallundrauch8518 Was hat deine Erwähnung der ´keys´ mit meiner Abneigung "Jugulator" gegenüber zu tun? Das ich Jug... nicht mag liegt an der Tatsache, dass es mir damals zu unangenehm modern, zu sehr nu-metal war; und noch immer ist. Mit "Demolition" sind JP wieder näher an den puren HM herangerückt.
      Und mit deiner Behauptung, die Priester wären immer mit der Zeit gegangen, kann ich auch nicht wirklich konsenz gehen. Priest hatten es nie nötig, einem Zeitgeist hinterherzuhecheln. Sie waren schon vor der NWOBHM selbst richtungsweisend in der härteren Musik und an sie haben sich andere Gruppen orientiert. Kenneth und Glenn wollten etwas anderes versuchen - was ja völlig legitim ist - und mussten sich nicht mit Robert arrangieren. Tim hat (verdammt gut!) das Material, dass sie ihm gaben, eingesungen.
      Als Halford wieder zurückkehrte hatte er sich, wie seine Kollegen auch, entwickelt und mit AOR kam ein RICHTIG gutes Album heraus.

      Don't agree - not as good as 'British Steel' or 'Screaming for Vengeance', no. But the riffs for 'One On One' and 'Devil Digger' as just as good as anything from the Halford eras. Halford himself says so!! I'm not keen on the 'Jugulator' album though - except for 'Cathedral Spires'.

    I listen to every single album of Judas Priest. Demolition is for sure worst. Metal Messiah is only one song with couple good "moments". I think that JP or KK Priest should make remake of this song in classic heavy metal style. This crap nu metal makes me sick. Also after reading comments I think that some people don't understand how Judas Priest should sound. When somebody is writing "Demolition is the only JP album I like because there's no bitchy high pitch screaming in it." Im just done, becuase high pitched scream is inseparable part
    HEAVY FAKING METAL :)

      Shut up, Judas Priest has always been a rather experimental band, even before this album. You clearly don't know the band enough to know that. There's no defined "Judas Priest sound".

    I think Judas Priest took the easy way out by reuniting with Halford whose voice was fucking blown and since that reunion, they've put out 4 albums and not one even came close to being great. Each were lazy and phoned in. Surprisingly, Priesy treated the reunion album like no big deal. The bare minimum of songs and most were rips of songs on Painkiller. The album didn't even sound like heavy metal. They created a new genre of slow, clumsy Codger-Metal.
    If they stayed with Owens they had a harder road ahead but would've been a superior band with a guy who could still hit the notes. They needed to lose Scott Travis and Ian Hill though. Travis has sounded weak for 20 years and Hill is just a standard bassist while other bands have phenomenal bassists.
