Hi Lori, thanks for sharing your beautiful home and property. I loved seeing all your sweet animals roaming around. What a beautiful life. Every family has their own way of doing things, don’t apologize. I really enjoy your videos and appreciate your authenticity. Many blessings to you and your sweet family . Lane is precious. ❤

Oh, I was looking for someone to say this! Breaks my heart to see you worry about a thing like tv time or some comments online. You're always doing your best and love your family so much! No one can ask anything else of you

@homemadesimplewithlori Absolutely, of course! I have so many more cooking skills and recipes since starting to watch your channel and I'm just very grateful for the time you put into it.

You are a Blessing to me. I watch you and your family, not your house. I am a 69 yr. Old grandma raising 4 kids. Your house is your house not anyone else’s. What is wrong with people today?Your house looks great. Oh my goodness your son is the cutest and had me laughing ❤
I really enjoyed your video today, I loved so many things about it. From what I can see from watching most of your videos is that you're an honest person and that is rare to find! By the way I will be making your southern biscuits recipe tomorrow. This recipe has become one of my kids favorite bread, I love it because I can make it from start to finish in 1 hour. I doubled the recipe and changed the recipe slightly to fit my family's taste by using 6 cups of organic hard white wheat flour, 2 cups of cold buttermilk substitute, 1 teaspoon of baking soda for the leavening , 1 cup of organic raw cane sugar, 2 teaspoons and kosher salt. 2 sticks of cubed cold unsalted butter. yields about 12-14 large biscuits. I store them in the refrigerator for the kids to eat for breakfast for a week, and heat them up to serve.
You do you, Lori. TV dinners are okay to enjoy occasionally. At least you all are experiencing the same show. Phones on at dinner bugs me. I request them to be left outside of the kitchen.
As a senior citizen, I go to Costco for some items but otherwise I get quantities I know we will use rather than saving the $ now. Waste is $ too. You are smart in your choices
Winnie is a dairy cow and she looks great and healthy! There’s nothing wrong with her and those who dont understand should not comment or educate themselves before putting negativity out there. Farm life is messy, especially this time of year. Please don’t feel the need to defend yourself. You are wonderful and doing the best you can and are doing a great job raising your family! Praying for you for peace!
Lane is precious, and you are so right about the salad and the pickles. I have the sweet heat pickles -- so good on a burger! I enjoy and look forward to your videos each week, so thank you for the inspiration!
Your Lavender might have been burnt with the wind , i know that if we have a windy few days that the flowers go black with the wind because they have been bashed about and bruised with the wind. Your cow might look a little slim but summer is coming and will gain a little more weight when it gets the good grass your fight you don't want it getting too fat , but if you keep working with her you will get it just as it should be. God bless you and your family and take care.
I am exhausted just watching you in your everyday duties. Lane and Kelsey are so precious! The swing is Wonderful, thanks Chris! I just wish you could slow down a bit. I worry about your greatly busy life but admire you also for your beautiful heart ❤️. Mom
Your such good parents and I must say very hard working. Your little boy comes first with his needs and loves being with you. The reason people criticise others is they don’t have enough on their plate. People ask us what we do all day. Maybe they would like to follow me and maybe you for the day I am sure then they would be tired. Love to you all. 🙏🕊🌶🌶
I seen some lavender plants the other day and it says they need 6+ hours of full sun a day. You might need to replant them into bigger pots. They could be getting root bound. Hope this helps.
Lori, always enjoy your videos. Glad you were able to put up the swing, that is sweet. Your milker looks fine to me. Some animals are just lean, like people. Most that see the cows on tv are over fed and and laden with hormones and steroids. Like a balloon ready to pop. I took horticulture in high school. I looked up a very basic lavender care plan.. aka what troubles my lavender plant true enough, this is what most common problems are with house plants. First is overwatering and the second is bad soil. Dirt is soil with out nutrients. Plants breathe through the soil. Watering them suffocates them. Better to let them dry out till they start to wilt a bit. You will know that , and is time to water. And yes the soil will be dry. Good to look up what king of fertilizer they need and be able to add that to the water. For people that live in the city, allow your water to sit overnight. It allows the chlorine to dissipate . Not sure about the type of soil for lavender plants. Sometimes soil just needs to be changed out if it has been in the pot for years. Lighting is important to. Low light plants do not do well in high light or direct sunlight. The opposite is the same for high light plants in low light. Hope this helps. God’s blessings on your family!
Lavender likes good drainage and doesn’t like to be too wet. Can you put it in the ground? If so, put it on the top of a mound so that it is well drained. If not, try reporting with landscaping rick’s inside the bottom of the pot for good drainage. See what your local greenhouse has to say about your growing region and lavender. It’s a tricky plant.
I put it in the ground. We have REALLY sandy soil but where I put it isn’t sandy……🤦♀️. I have so much to learn about plants! Maybe it will do well, but I may need to move it to the back. It might do better there. Thanks for the tips.
@@homemadesimplewithlori geez, I’m glad you could understand that mess of a message I left. iPhone predictive text is messing up all my comments 😂 I had 4 lavender plants last summer and the master gardeners thought it was a victory that one survived our winter. They’re very fragile and you just never know. The one that survived was a Spanish lavender which isn’t supposed to survive our climate. But, it was on a hill! I love learning about plants. Good luck with the lavender. I have clay soil so not sure how it will do in sand but hopefully it will do well!
If no one else has said this, lavender generally likes poor well draining soil and tons of sun. I watch and read a lot of Monty Don. He specifically talks about how "Mediterranean herbs" prefer poor soil, drier conditions, and sun.
I experience the same thing at Costco. I don’t think they are the best price for most items any longer. A store sale beats the price typically. I know these words are not popular but I do experience this. Think about this and test my theory. I’m still educating my husband.

Lori, sweetheart you are precious!! You need to "deadhead" the lavender. When the bloom begins to wilt back, you pinch off the deadhead. With that many I'd just use snippers or sizzors. As it gets long branches, just cut them and put in some water and start another one. It naturally spreads if in the ground and will keep coming back, it really doesn't do as well in pots. Also you need to check your iron girl! You use a 14k gold ring, and "draw" a line across your forehead. If you see a black line, you need iron. My grandma would say "you lookn ruddy and jah gots dark eyes leme check ya iron" she'd pull off her gold wedding band grandpa gave her and drag it across my forehead and she was right EVERY SINGLE TIME! I thought it was just her ring, so after i had taken a iron pill for a few times. I had her do it again, there wasn't any line at all!! Also, its darker like a sharpie marker when you're really low.. lighter means its low but not bad, so don't take too much iron. She was the best Dr. I ever had. 😘
