Evanescence - "My Immortal" [Acoustic] (Live in Los Angeles 11-17-15)

- Evanescence performing an acoustic version of My Immortal live from their Winter Tour at the sold out Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA on November 17, 2015. This was shot with a Sony Cyber-shot HX50V. I had dozens upon dozens of phones to shoot around, which made it impossible to get a clean shot for most of the concert. And to the guy that held his gigantic iPhone Plus up above his head for THE ENTIRE CONCERT, blocking pretty much every single shot of mine: Your videos are fucking shit and thank you for ruining my decent-quality videos so you could record some atrocious, shaky, static video with lackluster sound. DON'T FUCKING HOLD YOUR PHONES ABOVE YOUR HEAD. DON'T BE A FUCKING ASSHOLE.

Man, her voice has improved a lot, she's even greater than before, I love her, can't wait to listen to a new Evanescence album!

We watch videos of Evanescence live at concerts on our phones and we wish we could see them live. So we buy tickets, get great seats right on the floor... then we watch the entire concert through our phone just like we did when we wished we could see them live in concert.
+AClRCLEOFLlGHT Maybe this guy is making these videos so people like me, who are unable to attend these concerts can enjoy them also? If people want to record these performances I dont see why people have a problem with it. They paid for their ticket so they can do what they like as long as it doesnt take away from someone elses enjoyment.
+Jamal Malik I agree with your point, and you are correct. The problem is that all those people with their phones straight in the air for most or all of the concert were making the experience of everyone behind them worse because they were blocking our view. I do my best to never block other people's view more than I have to and hold my camera as low as possible, below my own chin is ideal. But I THINK the original comment was addressing the people in front of me more than myself, but I could be wrong. If I am wrong then it's worth stating that I try to look at the screen of my camera as little as possible, I just try to make sure the shot is good and also make sure I'm taking in the performance in front of me.

My comment is for the overall scene of the concert, not anyone specifically. It just seems that with thousands in attendance, hardly anyone is actually 'there'. They're all watching live videos rather than the live artists in front of them. At least one concert on every tour is filmed professionally, so people don't need to record thousands of versions with bad sound and obstructed views for us to watch. They're just ruining the experience, for themselves, the people behind them, and even the artists playing for them.
Artists who've been around a while, complain about their experience with crowds at concerts now. They enjoyed looking out at the people, seeing their faces and enjoyment, but these days when they look out, all they see are phones and people staring at their phones. It's funny how these devices we use to stay connected, have disconnected us.
AClRCLEOFLlGHT Ah ok, thank you for explaining. What you say makes sense but I guess with the advancement of technology some drawbacks had to occur and I guess this had to be one of them. It is quite ironic though.
