It did hurt to see palmers end.. but all good things must come to an end, I’ve seen a few of the lads and yourself and I can honestly say for them 5 years you made me fall in love with football even more than ever (it’s hard because I’m a West Ham fan🤣) but going to see a few games with a couple of mates was so good, remember feeling so crap when you lost to marques, but the joy of last season could never ever be topped. You and the lads did a lot for other Sunday league sides and honestly you and the palmers team will always be in my eyes the originals! I hope that this channel really takes off as you are one of my favourite creators. One other idea for a video, could you do one with a few old palmers player reacting to there goals ( nicks drunken goal; knowles free kick and Jamie’s last minute winner would be great to hear how they felt and there opinion of it all

"Devastated" is the right word. After the split of teams (which always did feel like a negative turning point, even at the time), last season was absolutely brilliant. It was really, really coming back into its own. MY GUY JACK, Bill Tex, Elliott, Lew, and all the old faces that were still around really made it a lot of fun again.

Smiv, I've been subbed to the Palmers FC channel for as long as I can remember, probably about 30K subs (on a different account though) and I remember the joy of coming in from my own Sunday league game to watch my second favourite team (First being Man United) play football. It was the pinnacle of Sunday League youtube and the feeling of originality and happiness will never be matched again. It's a shame that you can't do this anymore but it is for the best, if you are not feeling it and it's not the best thing for your and your family then it's not good in general. Family always comes first. Anyways. thank you for all the memories and I look forward to more OTR videos, since they've now become brilliant videos as well. Let's hopefully see this channel to 100k subs soon and then exponentially from then on.

Palmers FC popped in my recommended for the season review of their first season four years ago and it was a blessing - something I never knew I always wanted. I loved every second of it and, while it’s sad that it’s gone from RUclips, it’s more important that you’re happy with what you’re doing. I could see the love fading with every new signing whereas when it was Wozza, Nick, Toogood, Knowlsey etc etc and it was all about the banter rather than the winning and, as you say, you were unique at the time. Anyway, keep up the great work with On The Road as it’s really relatable content as someone who goes to a fair few neutral games and come on you Palmers!

Nothing beats the originals, proper characters and the best editing I’ve seen about, “bus on a Sunday”/Nick turning up pissed, WFOGCAN etc... fair play young Smiv

Started watching for the football, but stuck around for your personality and humour in honesty. I think you're right that there was just too much content coming out around Palmers, and not being able to keep up with it all led to a bit of a disconnect - and as that connection with the lads was the enjoyable part, that was a big problem! Palmers had already completed their mission and won their victory anyway - it was the right time to end, on a high. I came across palmers by accident a few years ago when I searched Sunday league fouls and it was one of the best things that happened these videos were class and it’s brilliant seeing Smiv develop as a person through the videos 👍🏻
Completely understand your reasoning Smiv. I think you underestimate just how much enjoyment this club injected back into football for so many people. When I started watching Palmers all I wanted to do was play football again, having not played since I was a teenager. I'm now trying to break into semi-professional football and absolutely love playing Saturday and Sundays
Well, all good things come to an end. Was a brilliant ride to be part of, and i personally had my ups and downs, but i miss, and will always miss the old days when we first started up. Thanks Matt for everything you did for us as a club, but mainly for being my mate. And thank you to everyone who followed us, supported us, and spoke to us both in comments here and on the socials. Also, to anyone who ever came to watch, your support was so appreciated, and i can't thank you enough. I play for a new team now, have 5 assists and 5 goals in 10 games if anyone cares 😂😂. Found my level i guess.
I remember watching back in the old phone recording days, good thing about RUclips is they're always there to go back and watch on the good days, and the bad. Palmers is a special club that I will always keep close to my heart. My favorite Wozza moment has to be when you scored, ran up to the camera did a little jump and shouted 'yeahhh' Nice to hear you've found your place in a blind squad! Palmers were and still always will be my second fav team. Seen it grow since day 1. You even introduced me to the Dons who I now watch every week instead of palmers. Feels like the end of a massive era. Many a moment enjoyed watching you boys. Big up yourself and all the boys x

It's videos like this that make me wish RUclips had a "love" button. Matt, you brought the simplicity of Sunday League to a high school lad in Canada who was just looking for some football content on RUclips. I followed Palmers from partway through the first filmed season until the end, and I'm glad I did. I got to experience the highs and lows from across the pond and it's because of you. You've always been an honest, simple guy and that spoke to me. Thank you for doing the Palmers vids for all those years. This was an era of my life, when I was working weekends and couldnt play league football. You've done the right thing Smiv in moving on to different things. There's no point doing twice the work for half the views. For me, Jamie scoring that league winner was when Palmers videos were at a peak. It did lose its way a bit when the team was split in two. I'm a long time follower of you, Smiv and will continue watching your life progress. All the best ❤️

Strong feeling of nostalgia watching this video. Started watching my first year of university and would be patiently waiting each week for the new video to come out. Lovely memories of proper old school Palmers, Mike’s banger, Wayne getting in the way, Connor being the best player I’d ever seen, as rightly said by yourself: “just taking the piss.” Don’t think there will ever be a better video on RUclips than Jamie’s last minute winner, felt like I was part of the team playing. But all your lives move on, as do ours... we can't stick doing the same thing forever. It would get boring if we did. I'm grateful for the free entertainment - and a little annoyed at you that you stopped us helping out on patreon when you did ;-) though it only says good, honourable things about you that you did so. There’s a piece of my heart gone with Palmers gone from RUclips, I know you’ve got commitments other than filming two games on a Sunday but every Monday at 7 used to be peak time for me. I’ve watched every video at least 20 times😂 I miss it not gonna lie. But hey, you’ve got a life to life and a family so if you haven’t got the time then that’s how it goes. I get completely that the foundations of the club are no longer their and the relationships of the players is what makes Palmers series so great. Sucks knowing that it'll be gone forever. I don't really remember how I stumbled upon Palmers but it became something fun to watch while I had rehab after acl surgery. Made me wanna do my own (I do a crappily-edited series for one of my indoor teams, just don't have the time it needs, but friends love it). I guess what really sucks is knowing that Palmers still exists and still plays, but no one's there to film/edit. If I lived near you I'd love to, but atm I don't think I could commute from Chicago xD
Might be worth putting Palmers into the hands of Troi? Might be a different experience, with different Editing and Voiceover, but he might be a good candidate as the new guy to take over, seeing as he came in later and all? Obviously wouldn't start it this season, but kick it off as a New Palmers Experience at the start of Next Season? Even if you don't Palmers was great fun to watch, especially the Handbags *Which I wouldn't mind seeing in the OTR Vlogs, if you get the chance*

I came across palmers by accident a few years ago when I searched Sunday league fouls and it was one of the best things that happened these videos were class and it’s brilliant seeing Smiv develop as a person through the videos 👍🏻
Completely understand your reasoning Smiv. I think you underestimate just how much enjoyment this club injected back into football for so many people. When I started watching Palmers all I wanted to do was play football again, having not played since I was a teenager. I'm now trying to break into semi-professional football and absolutely love playing Saturday and Sundays

Well, all good things come to an end. Was a brilliant ride to be part of, and i personally had my ups and downs, but i miss, and will always miss the old days when we first started up. Thanks Matt for everything you did for us as a club, but mainly for being my mate. And thank you to everyone who followed us, supported us, and spoke to us both in comments here and on the socials. Also, to anyone who ever came to watch, your support was so appreciated, and i can't thank you enough. I play for a new team now, have 5 assists and 5 goals in 10 games if anyone cares 😂😂. Found my level i guess.
I remember watching back in the old phone recording days, good thing about RUclips is they're always there to go back and watch on the good days, and the bad. Palmers is a special club that I will always keep close to my heart. My favorite Wozza moment has to be when you scored, ran up to the camera did a little jump and shouted 'yeahhh' Nice to hear you've found your place in a blind squad! Palmers were and still always will be my second fav team. Seen it grow since day 1. You even introduced me to the Dons who I now watch every week instead of palmers. Feels like the end of a massive era. Many a moment enjoyed watching you boys. Big up yourself and all the boys x
Think there are a lot of us who watch the Dons as a replacement! Enjoy them (Zak Ansah is unreal), but it's just not the same. At all.
RobJaskula a lot of the dons boys play for my local on a Saturday, Ansah is a different level. It’s nice to see the journey the Dons have been on as well

RobJaskula smiv deserves all the praise he gets, I’m not saying dons wouldn’t be what they are now but without palmers playing them in that first ever friendly and smiv giving them a massive shoutout things could of been mad different.
As a long time Palmers fan. I used to get to excited to see it in my feed and it was my favourite series on RUclips. So glad it popped in my recommended feed all those years ago. Genuinely the GOAT RUclips football team. PALMERS
It's videos like this that make me wish RUclips had a "love" button. I liked all the games, I liked watching the team(s), I liked the progression of the club but overall I love what smiv has brought to me and countless others, you owe us nothing and we're nothing less than grateful for what you've already provided us. Ultimately I wish you the best going forward for yourself and your family and that you don't regret finishing this stage of your life but cherish it as a memory like the rest of us will. Matt, you brought the simplicity of Sunday League to a high school lad in Canada who was just looking for some football content on RUclips. I followed Palmers from partway through the first filmed season until the end, and I'm glad I did. I got to experience the highs and lows from across the pond and it's because of you. You've always been an honest, simple guy and that spoke to me. Thank you for doing the Palmers vids for all those years. This was an era of my life, when I was working weekends and couldnt play league football. You've done the right thing Smiv in moving on to different things. There's no point doing twice the work for half the views. For me, Jamie scoring that league winner was when Palmers videos were at a peak. It did lose its way a bit when the team was split in two. I'm a long time follower of you, Smiv and will continue watching your life progress.

Legend Matt, end of an era! Watched Palmers since I was 11 and I’m now 15 so it’s been a massive part of my recent childhood. Sad to see the end but glad it happened. Love OTR mate please keep going! Can we still get a WCOFAGAN video with the lads every year? Highlight of the year for me 😅

Strong feeling of nostalgia watching this video. Started watching my first year of university and would be patiently waiting each week for the new video to come out. Lovely memories of proper old school Palmers, Mike’s banger, Wayne getting in the way, Connor being the best player I’d ever seen, as rightly said by yourself: “just taking the piss.” Don’t think there will ever be a better video on RUclips than Jamie’s last minute winner, felt like I was part of the team playing. The greatest to ever do it, keep on working hard smiv, like you said as new players joined I began to watch less and less but that a learning curve I guess, would always come back every so often and binge lol.

Hi Smiv, just want to say thank you for all 5 years of palmers, I started watching them on my lunch breaks at an awful night shift job stocking shelves. It was what got me through the shifts at what was one of the worst periods of my life. Really appreciate all the effort you put in and all the time you took to create such great content. There’s a piece of my heart gone with Palmers gone from RUclips, I know you’ve got commitments other than filming two games on a Sunday but every Monday at 7 used to be peak time for me. I’ve watched every video at least 20 times😂 I miss it not gonna lie. But hey, you’ve got a life to life and a family so if you haven’t got the time then that’s how it goes. Hi Smiv, can't remember when I started watching but I remember Jamie's goal and being on the edge of my seat during that video so I must have been a fan for a while before that. Just want to say thanks for all your hard work and I've enjoyed every minute of your videos. I've got a 6 month old and completely understand how priorities change as a result. Completely understand that Smiv, when you build such a strong relationship with your friends through a football club their will be a time where the people who started the club move on. I get completely that the foundations of the club are no longer their and the relationships of the players is what makes Palmers series so great. I do miss the palmers videos. Soon as I saw it in my subscription box it was straight on. But if it ain't making you the £, then I totally get it. Glad you're not lost the scene completely though and do love the otr series. Perhaps you could tempt some of the old faces to join you and Charlie on your travels?

Sucks knowing that it'll be gone forever. I don't really remember how I stumbled upon Palmers but it became something fun to watch while I had rehab after acl surgery. Made me wanna do my own (I do a crappily-edited series for one of my indoor teams, just don't have the time it needs, but friends love it).
I guess what really sucks is knowing that Palmers still exists and still plays, but no one's there to film/edit. If I lived near you I'd love to, but atm I don't think I could commute from Chicago xD

Might be a different experience, with different Editing and Voiceover, but he might be a good candidate as the new guy to take over, seeing as he came in later and all? Obviously wouldn't start it this season, but kick it off as a New Palmers Experience at the start of Next Season?
Even if you don't Palmers was great fun to watch, especially the Handbags *Which I wouldn't mind seeing in the OTR Vlogs, if you get the chance*
