Love all the comments here saying that Susan was the best Elle Woods onstage. Whilst I love many actresses in the role and have seen quite a few live, nobody was as strong all round as Susan. Vocally she surpasses all other actresses in the role with a pleasing and easy to listen to tone, strong comfortable voice with considerable range, she really handles the score with ease and manages to add personality. She looks the part and acts really well also. Her dancing was also far better than Sheridan's but hey ho, she's not a dancer but was fantastic in the role but certainly one to have seen live.
HOLY CRAP THIS IS AN AMAZING ELLE;; BASICALLY LEVEL WITH LBB's
Now, I've never seen her live or seen her in the show as Elle or Serena, but from this performance I have to say hands down, she is the best professional Elle I've ever heard or seen. She captures the camp but sincerity of the character, and the show itself. I have to say I prefer her Elle over Bundy's (although Bundy is absolute perfection). She really embodies here the Elle Woods who's bubbly aura we fell in love with in the movie. She really captures what Reese Witherspoon created. I love it. And her vocals??!!! Top notch! The musical is pop-influenced so her pop sound really gives edge to the character, especially that non-nasally belt. dude. she is amazing, I hope she takes a break with Celtic Women and comes back to performing on Broadway and West End SSOOON!!
honestly i have to disagree. she may have the voice to match it but her stage performance is lacking. she has the facial expressions, but lbb definitely embodied elle in general. i have never seen susan live other than this either, but lbb was just THE elle. susan was too focused on her singing that her stage performance was really small. but other than that she was great!
@@ivyvykim1992 Your opinion, the legally blonde community needs to understand that everyone isn’t LBB, I don’t see people constantly comparing Idina or Kristin to any newer Elphaba’s or Glinda’s so why is it every video I see people are complaining because the actor doesn’t act the same way as LBB. :/

Do you know why she had a short contract? Was the show closing? Over here in the states I questioned some casting over in the UK. Helen Dallimore as Galinda in "Wicked" didn't make sense to me. Sheridan played to acclaim as Elle but the videos I saw were not impressive. Honestly Susan was a a half tone or so flat mid song (She's human live TV. I get it. The best singers aren't always on) but she was in tune where it really counted. I saw Laura Bell Bundy in person in "Legally" she was magical. Susan McFadden is also quite excellent!
This is the first clip I've seen of Susan playing but wow, nearly as good as Laura Bell Bundy! She was a fantastic Elle, the energy, voice (accent and all) and acting just ahh really good :)

I always find it hilarious that the show has a song about Ireland (and confuses the country with Scotland) while Susan is really from Ireland.

But Laura Bell Bundy is still my favorite. I dont know why. I just really love her acting and portrayal of this song.

AAYARINE Sheridan sounds like complete and utter shit compared to this lady. Yes she was loud in certain parts but overall her vocals were flawless .
