I love it beautiful vocals ,guitar and harmonica ,why arent you out there??
Many thanks. That means a lot. I am already out here 😂
Great version! My favourite song by the Waifs. Your version is helped by the rather strong harmonica playing!
Jenny amazing every which way..what woods did u use on the guitar?
So fortunate to get to see her play live in Hawick, Scotland a couple of weeks ago. Talk about an amazing talent!! I could listen to her sing and play all night. And she’s so nice!
Thanks Susan, I just found this comment now. Hoping you are well xx
Saw you tonight at Basement in SYD Jen and bought both CD's. Totally blown away thanks.. Still workin' on the Irish accent.. ;-) Maybe you remember what I said about Vicki Thorn.. this video validates that without a doubt. Thanks..
Awww thanks Allan. All those years ago!
Amazing!
Thanks Donna!!! That means a lot
The guitar sounds awesome Jenny. Do you sell them at all? If so, how much are you selling them as I'd love to buy one. Thanks, Tones..
Aww thanks Tony. Alas, not selling them. But woudln't that be the dream. Happy playing
Damn you're good
This girl is pure Australian talent!
top stuff
wicked harp skillz!!
+goobs Thanks :) Gosh you should see Vikki from the Waifs. AMAZING. Inspiring
❤
Wicked! Seriously!
That's an even more impressive performance because you're using a Jim Dunlop harp rack and you NAIL it!. I absolutely can't stand mine and find it impossible to play accurately or with aggression.
I need a rack thats anchored solidly on my chest/shoulders.
Hats off to you young lady.
And your guitar is tres noice!
If you're ever on the Sunshine Coast I'll have to corner you for some harp lessons.
BTW, are you using a 'D'?
+Muzz Litebeer Sorry for the delay getting back to you - only a year later. How good are those harmonica braces! The others are like dental contraptions. Hahaha. This is much more discrete.
Thanks for your kind words :)
Indeed I'm using a D harmonica.
Sunshine coast, ey. :) Awesome. I haven't been up there for a couple years now.
Clap clap clap! ♥ it! Nice work all round. Beautiful guitar - nice tone. Be proud. Wishing you continued success in all you venture, Jenny.
You have music oozing from every pore in your body. This was a fantastic performance. Congratulations. I can see how many hours you have spent honing your craft. Loved it!
+vanjane Thank you lovely :)
Very , very talented ……
Thanks Rob
Wow!!
Great!
Craaaaaazy awesome. teach me to play like that hahaha
incredible player. The guitar has a beautiful tone, made by hand by you,so of course it will give off positive energy.
Thanks so much David!
Hey Jenny, Wicked cover and some great tone. I make instruments as a bit of a hobby (slide guitar, stomp boxes, cajons, amps etc) and would love to tackle an acoustic guitar. Do Thomas Lloyd give the opportunity to anyone to do this (with the right amount of $$) or are you just a very special person?
Scap that. Next time I'll read their damn website!
+Andrew Jackman Hahah. Awesome. Sorry for the delay getting back to you - only a year later. Did you ever get lessons with Thomas Lloyd Guitars? Amazing experience. I highly recommend it. You could probably exchange guitar making tips too if you're a maker yourself.
Awesome Jenny!!!!!! :-)
Awesome work
Awesome
fuck yeah waifs do be my favorite music
First off - Holy crap Jenny! That was incredible!! - super slick playing, performance and guitar.. Undoubtedly the best Ive heard :). Secondly, I was hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction to any (!) decent tabs for this song. I've tried in so many places and had no luck. Don't think I'd be able to match your licks in the middle mind! Thanks so much and keep up the awesome work.
Hah! Thanks! That's awesome. Very kind words.
Tabs for the song? Alas, no. I just kinda figured it out by ear, but I don't think I play it exactly the same. I was contemplating doing a basic "how to" video.
It dances around Aminor, C, and G.
+Jenny Biddle hey! Thanks for the reply, nice to hear from you. Ahh that's a shame, however it did feel like a long shot ;).. Amazing you've created that just from ear!
Well, if you were still contemplating the 'how to' video, you'd be safe in the knowledge that 1 person would view it, and love it! Actually I'm certain a few friends would too.
But anyways, not meant to sound request! :) keep up the awesome work
Best!
Thanks Alex. Enjoy :) The Waifs are super impressive live, if you ever catch 'em.
You *made* the guitar, you can play it like that, sing, and play harmonica....all at the same time? That's astonishing. Bravo!!
you rock big time!
Thanks for coming Al. Hope you had a terrific evening!
Enjoy the CDs :)
Lovely!!! Nice one Jenny..rockin'!! ;)
Cool jam! Love your passion!!🎶🎵🎶🎵😎🎸
Thanks Jen this is just what I needed today. :O)
jammin ! great music and wonderful woodwork
Love this girl!!!
Congrats Jenny. You have created a great sounding guitar. Love your take of this great song. You have a great playing feel and an awesome voice. Hope to catch you live some time.
Thanks Rob! You must be a Waifs fan too!! Thanks for your kind comments. I'll be doing a tour East coast Oz, fires depending. Where are you based?
Yes Jenny a huge Waifs fan. Josh I’m sure would be rapt to see you weaving a bit of Joshness into your cover. I’m in Melbourne
this is amazing !!!!
Awww! Thanks Bree! :D
Fecking awesome!! Blew me away!! Glad I discovered your amazing musicianship! New fan here!
AWww thanks MOOSH!
Hi there, what key is the harp you are playing? Thanks, Scott
Hey Scott,
It’s a D major harp
Awesome looking guitar! Will you please upload a video on how to play this song?
Hey, thanks! I am contemplating doing a video. I don't think I play it exactly the same as the Waifs, but the general vibe. :) I'll try and get a "how to video" up
I am only sorry that I am just now finding you and your music!!! is that a Lee Oskar harmonica? also, I have never seen a neck rack like that! what brand is that? I seems to leave you a lot of room to move and sing...not jammed in your face!
+kishanabear Sorry for my late reply. It is indeed a Lee Oskar hamonica. Love 'em.
Not sure what the neck brace brand is - I bought it from Turramurra Music in Sydney, Australia. Fabulous. It's heaps less chunky than other brands.
Awesome cover! What key is that harmonica in?
+Alec MacIsaac It's in the Key of D. There's a good trick with harmonicas. The song is in Amin, but if you play the harmonica of the fourth chord in the key of Amin,ie. D harmonica, you can get all the bluesy notes.
I love this song! Your cover was awesome! Great job! :)
It's a great song, hey! Thanks Astrid :) Love the Waifs!
Holy Shit - an awesome musician AND performer AND crafty guitar maker wrapped up in one human being. Inspiring to see!
Awww thanks. Too kind of you. :)
Holy shit you're amazing
I'm in love with you. Marry me?
Im married but will also contest your asserted love and ask her also to marry me:D
What key is your harmonica?
The key of D :)
Wasn't expecting a reply since this was from 2012 but thank you for responding, super helpful! :D
what a dream machine!!!
