Aha! I was wondering when you'd come to this band 🙂 I'm glad you did! Most of their music is quite upbeat, but on stage they are pure dynamite.💥 Happy to hear you'll be featuring more from Saga. Their guitar player, Ian Crichton, is amazing.

@@retroreactions.... - I saw some great opening acts with Rush from UFO to Pat Travers. These guys were just one of the top Canadian bands touring at the time. Triumph and April Wine were two other bands I saw that were fabulous live.

Glad you came to Saga. If you like keyboard music you may love it. Main keyboards were Jim Gilmour who replaced Peter Rochon only on their first album (he is also great on vocals, see "Scratching the surface" ) from 1980, then Jim Gilmour, bass and bass Keyboards. But not only, Michael Sadler just had always a beautiful distinctive voice that have so much charisma, and he plays also the keyboards! Also it never purely an electro Pop band it's melted with some speed Rock elements, like electric music married with heavy rock. The fast drums of Steve Negus, but even more the virtuose guitar of Ian Crichton everywere. You will hear soon, Saga got full of instrumental fast dialogs surprises, they always were very powerful band, particularly in their beginnings. They melted prog with other mainstreams pop music so easily it's an awesome approach. Good choice of song for discovery, they got so many more. I saw they mentioned "Don't be later" and"Wind him up". Check also "You're not alone" "Perfectionnist"
"Careful where you step" "Mouse in a maze" "Images" "Framed" Saga began the musical adventure from 1978 (not very far from DM beginnings 2 years later if I am not mistaken), they had a very powerful area until 1985 (their 6 first albums are fully great for every songs!) but still have good stuff until the 2000'. Cheers😉!

Thanks for the reaction. Nice that you sample their most popular song but more importantly one of their early masterpiece. If you decide to react to more Saga, you have so much to choose from …I would suggest Wind him up and Don’t be Late. Great job on these 2. No need to say that I ´ve been a Saga fan since their very beginning. Note that they are still performing and give a great show…saw them over 12 times.

Fabulous Band, first 4 albums are awesome, you can pick any track from these 4 albums and not be disappointed. If you can find a band called Zon you would love them especially Astral Projector Album. Try Rush too especially Signals album, very keyboard heavy which I know you like. Keep up the good work on this brilliant channel.🎸

A lot of their music is best listened to with headphones ... in the dark ... and lying down. If you dont do it that way you are in danger of being charged up too much ... resulting in you doing something that is "unwise". Listening to this in a car might be considered dangerous (unless you're on the Autobahn).

Great new artist choice! I don’t remember if I’ve ever mentioned Saga to you before, but I’ve listened to them for years. “Humble Stance” I’ve not listened to in awhile, but “On The Loose” I’m really familiar with. I’ve got both of these albums, as well as a few others. A couple of other great songs are “Don’t Be Late” and “Will It Be You?” They have MANY great songs for you to discover! You mention Michael Sadler’s voice reminds you of Mickey Thomas from Starship, but IMO, I get a lot of Dennis DeYoung vibes.

Excellent band! For what ever reason I never got deeply into them but always enjoy their music when I do hear it and I've had a few friends and old bandmates that were really into them! 😎👍 Makes me think of a couple other Canadian bands that are also great and didn't always get the attention they deserved, IMHO.
Sometime you might want to react to or at least check out for yourself the song "Black Noise" by the band FM, it's awesome and epic! (and the whole album by the same name Black Noise from 1977 is quite good throughout) And their 1979 album Surveillance is also excellent throughout. I'd suggest the cuts "Orion Horizons" and/or "Destruction".
And the other band is Klatuu, which are somewhat more known than FM but not by much? My most favorite cut by them is "Little Neutrino" which is awesome and epic (most of my top favorite music usually is! 😅) but they are probably better known for "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" which is also awesome and my second favorite by them. Both songs are from their first album in 1976. The Carpenters did a cover version of Calling Occupants the same year and were a lot more successful with it, even though the Klaatu original version is far superior IMHO. (but Karen Carpenter arguably had the better voice!) It would be a fun if you did a double header with both versions of "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" but i would strongly suggest doing the Carpenters cover first and then the Klaatu original, because the other way around might seem anti climactic? ;-)

Sorry for the delay! I've actually done Carpenters version of Interplanetary already.. I'll give the link. Looks like 2 songs by Klaatu made the cut today, assuming no blocks!! ☺ ruclips.net/video/vAFIRg3m9ts/видео.html

@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 Both excellent Canadian bands! (and I mentioned canadian bands FM and Klaatu in another comment ;-) From Triumph I would suggest "Time Canon / Killing Time" and for BTO "Blue Collar"! Both songs are not the most popular by those bands and a little uncharacteristic, especially "Blue Collar", but they are my favorites! 😎
