People need to ask the question why would they release them if they were guilty ? They say ok well if we tried them again and re opened the evidence they could get an aquital. This is where you need to ask yourself the question. So the worst case for the state is they lose the court case and the boys are released in a couple years after the trial. Best case you keep them in prison. Under the worst case though they are still released. So they decide hey ive got a great idea ...lets release them today. These people we think are guilty lets avoid the risk and just release them today. Its brilliant ... lets tell them rigtht now they can leave prison today !!. They did not wan't to open up the evidence and were willing to release he boys right now becasue they knew clear as day the evidence did not support the conviction and there would have been alot of questions to answer. Theres a reason this was an unprecedented deal and its not because they had Johnnie Depp behind them. When you have the truth on your side you want the evidence to be on display. Theres a reason these boys are still trying to get the evidence reopened and tested to this day.
