Tom, Holy Sh!t. Tom... I've been listening to Alaska on repeat for a few months now. I'm currently in a military training event away from home and after a very draining/numbing week I finally got some downtime. I'm so glad I used it to finally get around to trying to find out more about the vocalist in this mysterious band that I couldn't seem to find much information about with some quick lazy googling. The results... wow. To say i'm blown away by your abilities and TASTE in music is an understatement. This song is my most listened to song last year (I was late to the DGD/Emorosa party). The lyrics you produce in your music across your bands... so powerful and articulate/capture feelings I struggle to put into words. I wish there was a stronger word than "cathartic" that I could gift to you. I know you do this because you enjoy this, but from the bottom of my heart.. thank you for all you've done for this corner of music. It is such a gift to some of us. I haven't been this satisfied with music since Sonny Moore lol, which for me is WILD. I look forward to pushing your stuff in all my friends ears every chance I get. If I may ask, what are you current primary efforts in music?
This dude is an excellent singer and it, apparently, took him a pretty long time to create a pretty good cover. Now imagine Jonny Craig, high on substances, walking into the studio, doing a one take on an original track, and just go about his day. JC was unreal in his prime man.
I appreciate the kind words! To clear things up though, it's only taken me a long time because it took me years to get to a level of singing that I was happy with to even attempt this song. Also that's untrue about Jonny in the studio with this song. It definitely wasn't a one take and the pre-prod demos that exist show that it sounded very different to the final product, other than a few melodies. I believe there were at least two producers (either Kris Crummett or Brian McTernan) who aided in vocal melody assistance for this album and a lot of the credit goes to them for keeping it on the rails and polishing it up. As far as I recall anyway. Obviously still a powerhouse vocalist though and possibly my favorite voice.
Mad respect Johnny Craig has an amazing voice and you not only kept the feel but you made it sound just as good if not better. Keep it up dude you have a special voice
Great cover! Vox is a fitting tribute to the original song, while still cutting loose in your own style. Big big fan of Galleons and Valiant Hearts, too.
This is bonkers man, vocal technique is off the charts. Solid mix too, like I can see how you might want it to be a better like you say but overall it sounds pretty dope and I would have to be pedantic af to pick it apart in any way. Great job!
Excelente voz, casi nadie puede igualar la voz de JC pero a ti te salió lo mas parecido posible, me encantaría que pudieras hacer un cover de Her advise coust us a life, sería increíble
If having instrumental tracks is what's stopping you from producing more of these then hit me up! I'd be more than happy to strip and isolate any instrumentals you need. Amazing voice
I appreciate it! I don't really wanna start uploading covers to Spotify for a number or reasons, it gets a bit expensive uploading them and I'd also want to mix and master this a bit better before I'd think about doing that.
Thank you! I don't really have any resources, I learnt to sing just from doing covers and practicing constantly to learn how my voice works and the mechanics of it. There's some good vids on youtube about vocal mechanics though and learning control.
Holy smokes 🔥
By far the best Emarosa cover I’ve ever heard in me life…
Did the song serious justice man. Can't imagine it's easy to replicate JC's style while still putting your own flare on it.
Tom seriously needs to be the next dgd vocalist 🖤💜
dude i've spent the last like 5 hours listening to all the music you've made here, galleons, valiant hearts - so fuckin impressive
You are by far the best vocalist to cover JC

Still listening to this album in 2024 which led me to covers of Emarosa. Best song by them, and you made the best cover.

Amazing voice
DAMN! I love this cover, despite having discovered it 11 months late. 🔥
Great cover! Vox is a fitting tribute to the original song, while still cutting loose in your own style.
Big big fan of Galleons and Valiant Hearts, too.

This is so good! A really difficult song too! Great job!

Holy Shit! You killed it Man!! I literally have chills!
This is bonkers man, vocal technique is off the charts. Solid mix too, like I can see how you might want it to be a better like you say but overall it sounds pretty dope and I would have to be pedantic af to pick it apart in any way. Great job!
You just got a sub!! I’m a huge JC vocals fan and you’ve nailed his style perfectly, plus it’s not an easy thing to do either!
oh my goodness this is freakin amazing! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Aye this is actually really good
Horrreyyyy shit. This is awesome. Subbed!

You killed it bro. Great cover
Your voice is beautiful bro!!!
Yay 😊😊
well done dude
Fucking identical, wow!
Wish you had a better ezdrummer "tech/engineer" tabbing out those lines. Great cover!
Galleons sounds more like johnny Craig emarosa than dgd anyways
Том❤ Мой любимый вокалист эва
Amazing cover!! When VH next album? =)
Excelente voz, casi nadie puede igualar la voz de JC pero a ti te salió lo mas parecido posible, me encantaría que pudieras hacer un cover de Her advise coust us a life, sería increíble
🥵🥵
If having instrumental tracks is what's stopping you from producing more of these then hit me up! I'd be more than happy to strip and isolate any instrumentals you need. Amazing voice
Do caralho!!!
it was overwhelming i didnt expect it honestly. Have you covered the instrumental too???
Yep, remade the instrumental completely. Thank you!
Can you do Saosin next?
This is amazing! Can we get this on the Spotify or is it not so simple uploading covers? This would definitely give my playlists a lot more fire!
I appreciate it! I don't really wanna start uploading covers to Spotify for a number or reasons, it gets a bit expensive uploading them and I'd also want to mix and master this a bit better before I'd think about doing that.
@@tjbhere I thought so, but a man can dream, right? I can´t wait for more Galleons/Valiant Hearts, really digging what you do!
Dude, awesome cover! You've gotta be my favorite vocalist as of late. Also, do you happen to have any good resources for beginner singers?
Thank you! I don't really have any resources, I learnt to sing just from doing covers and practicing constantly to learn how my voice works and the mechanics of it. There's some good vids on youtube about vocal mechanics though and learning control.
@@tjbhere Gotcha, thanks!
Please 🙏 cover some of starset
Not gonna lie, I never got chills like this with JC and his version. Hmmmmm interesting
Stop glazing
some songs should just not be covered, probably the best one out there regardless.
omg I'm convinced he has the best voice for such songs. I love Tom's voice even better than Jonny's 🥰
Now lets see if you're capable of Bradleys Emarosa. Anyone can do jonny lol
When you listen to a cover because you don't like the vocalist of a band as a person
Can I say something mmm. Be original
I have two bands with 3-4 albums each with original songs. You mean those? It's a vocal cover, its not that deep.
Too bad emarosa sucks
Now 🤢
