Love the look at the sketchbook page of Britain’s cutting board designs!
I love love you and your husband dedicated efforts and how y’all does everything together
Thank you for taming Jamie’s crazy knife-wielding-activities! I was ducking and weaving from here in Maine!
I've been on RUclips over 4 years and I just found your channel. I'm so glad I did. I love cutting boards too. Y'all are such a sweet couple and so talented.
Okay, the copper corners are a YES
Nice selection!
Jami, GURL! I missed the live, I'm watching the replay. You are scaring me with that knife! 😬 Use a pizza cutter to make some marks on those boards. I'm getting too old for these SCARES! LOL
No fingers or Zebs we’re hurt. But a pizza cutter is brilliant.
Good idea, I definitely make some good scratches on my cutting board when I use a pizza cutter.lol ❤️🇬🇧
Great unique shapes on the cutting board handles! Love the different designs.
I LOVE cutting boards!!!! This is such an awesome video! 😍 thank you so much for sharing with us!
Absolutely LOVE ALL OF THEM!!!!! Gorgeous!!! 🤗🤗🤩🤩
I would love for you to do the horse craft kit again! I collect the vintage versions and would love todo one of my own. I just can’t start the subscription this month.
Beautiful 😍
They all turned out great. Love them. Thx
When you said, “on the edge” with that knife in your hand, lol. Those kids are living on the edge messing with your butcher block, hahahahaha.
So beautiful! Great WNW, I love the cutting board shapes and finishes, so glad I always see your videos you post on RUclips as I don’t have Facebook
Love the different shapes! ❣
Jami, you need to take a meat mallet to that board
Great designs on those , use maple and thicker, will do well $ on resell , for sure, thanx for all your great videos ,so great, xo
Perfect timing. I just bought a few boards of pecan wood that’s been drying for about 4 years. I’ve already starting cutting the boards, and using tung oil to seal.
Is tung oil food safe? Or are they only for decoration?
@@cynthiafisher9907 Tung oil is extracted from nuts. Known for good water resistance, it often requires numerous coats. It leaves a natural finish that darkens the wood while showcasing the grain. Once thoroughly cured, it is food-safe.
@@mtparrish Thanks for the reply! I knew it was a good sealer for wood, I just didn’t know if it was food safe.
@@cynthiafisher9907 I thought it was interesting too that it derives from nut oil. I have 5 boards cut and about 10 to go. I hope my customer group will like them!
Such a fun video! Loved how they all turned out. 💕
Great deal for the cutting board and just to know you guys made it is a win 🙂
Yes to the white and hemp oil
I want a sheep/lamb cutting board …not as big as yours as I have a small kitchen
With the age of your church, you should have someone come in and metal detect for "treasures" and surprise relics from history.
I love cutting boards, but I don't like them cut up. I like new looking.
I am like Zeb, I do not like to make multiples of something I create!
I have seen DIY pizza oven builds! Check it out and then YOU GUYS DO IT!
Jami,I feel like if maybe you used a pizza cutter to distress the cutting boards there would be less chance of a trip to the ER. 😉
With me you never know. Although I can say knock on wood I have never had stitches. And that’s after doing demo and helping Zeb build our house
(Ärgat koppar)its called in swedish the green color on copper
Please be careful with the lovely green patina on the copper as it is toxic if consumed! You must seal it with something to block the transfer to your hands or food. And wash your hands after touching it!
Does anyone else use vinegar to rinse off their cutting boards after they have washed them with soapy water? I do it because my mom taught me to sanitize them that way. Jami I might not be able to catch all your lives but I always make time for your replays. I always seem to learn something from you. Today I learned you have black moto pants in stock. 😅 Had to go and order a pair.❤️
Appreciate it Yumiko! ❤️❤️
Thank you for putting on your mic. You are very hard to hear and your voice echoes without it. 😀
Is not maple wood the hardest wood, not sure about pine ,, for cutting boards, I guess all food safe depends on how slivery the wood gets when cutting food on it.? So, not sure about pine, ?what you think
The pine works well, it does wear a little faster but I’ve never worn through a pine cutting board yet. As far food safe woods a good rule is if the tree bears edible fruits, nuts or sap it can be used around food.
OMW I'm so glad to hear someone else mention elbows. Mine are killing me and I"m like, what a weird thing to hurt. :(
I mean, not glad you're hurting lol...
Haha. I knew what you meant. All joints can hurt. I’m sorry your elbows are bad too.
What kind of wood is your sheep cutting board please? And do u sell the pdf for a cutting pattern?
as far as using scrap wood to make food safe boards, can you use any wood?
Pretty much. A good rule to follow is no manufactured wood like MDF and if the tree bears edible fruit, nuts or sap it’s safe to be around food.
i had anxiety the whole time she had the knife!!
Attn Zeb and Jami! Will you guys still be traveling to Socal in May? Cause I have a trunkful (literally of vintage finds really really seriously good stuff) Let me know:) I am downsizing once and for all...I can arrange to go to Debis shop as well..
We are not at this time. I wish. But it just isn’t in the cards
Does Zeb use a jigsaw to cut the handles & rounding the corners?
Yes, that and his band saw. He’s also used a coping saw to do it
Would you be willing to do a YT video whereby you do hand chiseling/cut out on your wood projects?
What type of wood is it
Poplar. One is pine
Replay. Are these going to be available on JRV WHOLESALE?
No sorry. We are just making this batch. With wages where they are we just can’t pay someone to make them and sell them wholesale. And zeb doesn’t have the time
Are these totally decorative ? Cause popular wood which is very soft ,,,,for cutting food on gets very unclean, it so porous hard to clean , so I guess choose what you can cut on that , no meat or cheese
Actuality, wood cutting boards halt bacteria growth and are proven to be healthier than plastic over time. The wood itself prevents bacteria growth
They’re food safe. The tight grain of the poplar works well even though the wood is much soften then say a maple or birch.
Zeb - did you mean spalting (the discolored poplar)?
Ha! Nevermind... just got to the part in the video where someone on the live mentioned spalting, too. 🤷🏻♀️
It’s not quite spalting it just changes the color. I’ll have to look it up lol
Don’t feel bad Zeb, I didn’t understand Jami eithther. TMI
Lol happens with my ADD.
If you use a cleaver or meat tenderizer it would go faster. You wont end up in hospital very scary…
