The problem I see with planting different varieties is that they'll cross pollinate. I would only plant the true comfrey if you want to have seeds that are not crossed with the other hybrids. Although True Comfrey CAN be invasive. It spreads by seed. The others are hybrid varieties and they spread slowly from rhisomes.
