What a stark contrast to those previous reviews. Having 2 knowledgeable nerdy hosts yakking technical terms in their own world. It doesn’t cater to the general viewers and the whole video is so dry; should strike a balance isn’t it? I almost could not watch the video beyond 2 min and Mercedes is my favourite! Some light-heartedness should be injected and James has done a great job doing it. He’s more natural and has a flair for hosting.
I felt the imbalance too, but it's fine, both are actually fun technical people (as opposed to boring technical people). But it's not good for basic consumers who are not looking for drivability/technical feedbacks of cars, but for practicality and stuff - James always acted and asked the questions for basic consumer viewers. Credits still have to be given to Idris too - I like the way both of them understand all the terms they're telling each other (I can comfortably say at least half of SG drivers don't even know what's A-B-C Pillars). Idris is natural actually, did not feel that he is acting or nervous, just that Julian and Idris together will not give us the basic-consumerism-feels.
Hi Janice, thanks for your kind words and comments. So, the video team is trying something new to see what works and what doesn't. I'm guessing this new format doesn't work out for you. Have patience, we'll find something that sticks soon!
Love the description at 3.40 by Julian. The only current models I've seen and like is actually the new Suzuki Jimny that doesn't have a lot of techs or gimmicks. Just pure rugged black plastics and dials.
WHERE’S THE MEMES TOWARDS THE END 🥺 hahahahaha great video tho! Idris and Julian should have a segment on their own where they go deeper about cars for car lovers. As an average viewer, i miss James, he’s the goof i need in car reviews! Also, y’all should continue having James reading out fans comments like in the other video 😋
I agree with Julian. I don't see the big deal about technology in a car. I just want it to work for years down the road. Reason why I chose the Altis over the Mazda 3
Wow new CLA Shooting Brake. One of my favorite Mercedes. Could you do a A200 Hatchback please? Since you have done both the CLA Coupe and Shooting Brake, cannot miss out the entry level hot hatch from Mercedes right? *Hehehe*
Good one again. Job well done to Julian and Idris. But I miss James. He will add in little bit of comedy here and there unexpectedly. But overall, good one once again.
I beg to differ. This was the most indepth car review by far and I enjoyed it! Its always good to have a mix of presentation style to cater to different audiences. Idris and Jules great chemistry! 😉

Why don't you watch our A4 review and see which one tickles your fancy more? Personally I like the looks of the Shooting Brake and the comfort/practicality of the A4 - Jon
Nice video, Julian. You too are a digger for ventilated seats. Good car but still expensive, even with that Merc badge. Well its just an opinion. Good work buddy. Thanks
Wow I'm actually taken aback that such a pretty high-priced car is lacking dual-zone climate control, and I am definitely not liking that yellow, its like a banana on wheels.. 😂😂
the engine of the new cla e250 is from renault dacia. the same as the hybrid system, and that is not a positive thing, etc but the opposite and you also buy and pay for a mercedes benz and you get a renault ,, at a premium price , the cla 250 gasoline engine if it is authentic mercedes benz, I do not like that stupid fashion to save costs and quality of suppressing the front fog lamps by false cheap plastic air intakes and holes that are absolutely useless, better some precious Front fog lights and some daytime running led lights on the front skirt that have huge grille holes and ugly plastics etc and the same thing happens with the new Audi models and other premium brands. Very expensive and little standard equipment and also they are almost all the same photocopies With designers without character or personality, they should learn from the style of manufacturers from more than 20 years ago, with a very nice line and different from everything they do now, etc ,,. Mercedes benz must take care of those details and above all less parts of china and more quality control etc. that yellow color is beautiful and it feels great and the same happens inside the main screen and dashboard very beautiful, it hurts the horrible black piano, which is also in fashion in premium brands etc.
All gear levers on this new A class platform are found on the wheel stalk AMG or not. In fact it has been that way since the previous A class platform except for the AMG 45 models. Perhaps you guys should research deeper before you make such misleading comment and even nitpick as a negative over previous models.
Idris is a natural! Great chemistry between the two hosts. Love the new video flow too.
Thank you for the kind words. Will pass on the encouragement to Idris and Julian! - Jon

Ica Elena yes agree! I miss James too! He has got all the good vibes!
🙋🏼♂ RIGHT? I thought that was engaging too. No worries though, I engage with comments here, like so!

Nice review, almost as funny as the original Top Gear! It's informative and you get the info with a smile!

Looks like they are doing a review while doing a grabcar job with that masked dude listening to spotify on his phone behind! lol
Didn’t Julian experience the ambient light change in CLA coupe video? 😂 good stuff guys as u could tell, I’ve been binge watching
Great content, opinions from 2 drivers. Keep it up.

Santana Yes! James brings in fun & laughter to the otherwise mundane & dry video here.. I want James back!

if have budget, this car or audi a4?
Personally I think the A4 2.0 is a better buy, the engine itself is worth the cost of entry.

filmed a cheeky review while dropping their boy off to the hospital, well played lads

Considering the price, Wouldn’t buy is the right option! 👍🏻👍🏻
Please do more Mercedes and Tesla
Isn't the Audi A3 Sportback comparable to this???
Please review Mercedes SUV GLA 180
Why not wait a little while? A new GLA will be coming to Singapore soon-ish!
James Chan sure bro, anyway BIG thanks guys, luv to watch your videos . Cheers 🍻
Would be cool if you guys could include an acceleration run from 0-100km/h to see how close manufacturer claims are to reality!
There is no where in singapore where they can legally drive 100km/hr
@@gabriellim2293 hmm that's true, maybe 0-90? Lol.
You're right. We'd have to do an awkward 0-90 T.T
