Hello hello everybody! I've been wanting to make a series in which I redesign the main cast of MLP for ages now, but since I started my "deaths series, I kind of forgot about it for a while. Though, I was inspired by OhHoneyBee, hishohh and Emala Jiss' designs (check them out!) to pick this idea back up! First up is Twilight Sparkle, whom I would rename to Evening Umbra. I'm going to TRY and upload the compilation of the Mane 6 redesigns on Saturday, but unfortunately, I can't promise anything... Until then, I hope you enjoy my take on our beloved book horse! Let me know your thoughts!~

Edit: I thought of so much simbolism that could be put in it. Like... Luna represents the moon, Celestia represents the sun and Twilight is a simbol of that early stars that you can see between day and night. Even her name, Twilight Sparkle, tells us about it. Well I maybe think of this too much, but this realizion made my soul too happy.
Yeah I'm not an english speaker and... So... There can be mistakes, but I hope you got it right :D

Twilight wandered across the barren landscape between Camelot and her new hometown of Ponyville confused. How did she survive Rarity literally eating her alive in the apocalypse? How did she come back to where she now stands?
Hopefully she could find someone to help her find out.
Her cutie mark looked distinctly different from her old magenta star. In its place on her flank stood a white four-pointed star with a couple of other smaller stars sprinkled around it. Gone were the violet and magenta stripes in her hair, which now sported a deep lavender hue. Her skin had stayed intact, but it looked a little darker as though bathed in moonlight. Her legs looked stronger, her fore and hind quarters buffed to match. She felt more mature in this new form, but thoughts buzzed in her head a mile a minute as if she was still a filly.
A pair of iron rails stood short but stalwart before her, stretching in either direction as far the eye could see, a metal road pointed straight from point A to point B. 'Maybe I should follow them,' the purple unicorn thought.
Small stones covered the base of the tracks and made a comforting sound as she walked on them, the rocks clattering against one another in little clumps beneath her hooves.
A stone laying on one of the rails began shaking until it bounced off to the ground. A low rumble could be heard behind Twilight, and when she turned, a bright light that only grew brighter met her gaze. The train let out a long, mournful blast on its whistle as it thundered past with hissing steam and rattling metal. Hearing the whistle, Twilight jumped off the tracks and could only watch in amazement as the machine of steel hurried away unabated, untiring and undeterred.
As the last car clattered by, Twilight resumed her walk to Ponyville, following the rails with a steady and confident gait. Perhaps her friends were all right as well, given the Equestrian National Railway network was up and running again after what may have been years of neglect and dereliction.
Maybe the apocalypse was all just a dream.....
Or...was it?
As Twilight trotted past Sweet Apple Acres, the farm looked terrible. Trees had fallen, apples lay in rotting piles, the farmhouse and barn were coming apart. Windows were smashed out and boarded, shards of glass threatening to slice her hooves open.
The town proper didn't look much better. Broken and boarded windows, bent or smashed-up doors, and all manner of cadaverous meat littered the street: bodies, parts of bodies, some medical cases, a gun, empty bullet shells, some rotten sandwiches, an empty soda bottle, all items of the sort scattered about.
As she approached the station, she saw the train standing patiently at the platform. Its rods looked worn out, its boiler patched in rust, the wheels tired and wobbly. The only thing about it that looked even remotely new was a set of spikes covering the plow at the front of the engine. It almost looked too small for the train it was carrying until she saw the dingy copper nameplate on the boiler: "Iron Stallion."

I pulled into Ponyville as had become the norm since the apocalypse 10 years ago, each stop hoping against hope that at least one more survivor would come straggling aboard what I now call the "Covenant Express." My engine, the Iron Stallion, couldn't have looked worse even if i wanted it to - rusty boiler, worn-out wheels and rods, caked dirt and grime everywhere except for the blood-red spikes up front.
A purple unicorn stood on the platform, gazing at the engine. Thinking she was another survivor, I beckoned her with a toot on the whistle. She seemed to be frightened by it, maybe a little nervous, so I rang the bell twice to show I meant no harm. She nervously stepped up to the cab and I immediately recognized her as Twilight Sparkle.
I poked my head through the window and she was just as shocked as I was. But she didn't recognize me for some reason. Maybe my stubble got out of control without regular shaving? Maybe I had a scar from a blunt hit or singed skin from a burst valve? Maybe I was just covered in coal dust?
Whatever the case, she didn't climb aboard.
_sigh_ 'Her funeral,' I said to myself, releasing the squeaky brakes and opening the regulator.

The train started up with a jerk, the wheels slid a bit before gripping the rails, and soon it was gathering speed. Twilight reasoned that she could get on, so she galloped to the train and jumped on just as it left the station - and Ponyville - behind in a cloud of dust, smoke, and steam.

I love this version of Twilight Sparkle! This version of Twilight really lives up to her name cuz she does remind me of the night sky and her magic aura reminds me of the solar ring around the moon during a eclipse

Starkle is combined with Star + Sparkle.

omg, how do you leave this effect of the contour lines of the same color? And with this grainy effect, it's amazing TT
In lots of drawing programs there is a tool (i don't know how to describe it, so I'll use the word tool even if it's probably not correct) which consents you to colour just what is on the previous level. I think it's called "clipping". For example, if Blits draws the lineart, then add a new layer and puts on the clipping mode she can colour only the lineart. I'm not very good at explaining things, but most of the art programs I know have this tool, even free ones like Ibis Paint X. Hope I helped you!
