Being gay is not a character flaw, but in Jamaica it's a death sentence to come out and say you are gay because Jamaicans are thought to be homophobic. This stems from Christianity other religious teachings including Rastafarian, these teachings give you permission to be discriminative to other people and it's okay. This is pure hypocrisy, in Jamaica the murder rages high gun violence is high, murder against women is high, unemployment is high and what do we focus on whether somebody is sleeping with another person of the same sex. Dancehall or the music culture is not the reason why someone is gay, let's not sugarcoat it, people of different sexual preferences are part of the human race. if you are not gay you have nothing to worry about. Free your mind and the rest will follow. Free yourself from mental slavery people.🖤💚💛one luv

Especially with people like the Me Too culture types. She soon won't need Jamaica anymore after the big time offers she will get from Hollywood, trust me. Anyway Jamaica is so Hypocritical. Everyone knows most church pastors are Gay over there, both Male and female also. And I would say that it's probably safe to assume that 50 percent of male dancehall artists are bisexual, no doubt.

To make a comment, when artist sings and sings from the heart, good music is good music, when a artist just sings as an intertainer good music is good music, so when an artist sings from his or her personnel life style good music is still good music, what makes the difference is how the "public" see if, how the fans feel about, and how the powers that be view it, and want to promote or scrap it, and how it is put across to the public, (the media). That's the tool that break you or make you. To all the artist out there, keep making good music, wheather gay or not.

While Lila Ike is all about real Reggae music. Big Tunes! Take Batty Rider Shorts! This is good and rebellious and socially conscious music. So what does her personal sexual orientation does have to do with it? Nothing! Just nothing! Lila Ike keeps being a great musician! Go listen good reggae music! Always remember the homophobia in Jamaica originally comes from christian colonisation! Get rid of that! Freedom and equal rights for all people! Reggae and Rasta always had good morals - homophobia is none of them. We don't need that! The main thing we need is more good reggae music. It's been way too less in the past few years.

higher self...Artists of today are not concerned with trying to change the world to make it a better place
through their music they are only concerned with the monetary gain that is available.. so they will sing anything and behave in any way that they feel will fast track them to success...Once you hear young artists
calling older conscious artists who have followed on and built on the legacy that was put in place dinosaurs
you can start to see the demise of the Jamaican music industry...Now it is more important to have a large
social media following than to have good uplifting music circulating on the road because you have to feed the beast first before you can encounter any element of success.

One thing though - if black culture wants more equality and acceptance - how does this same culture want to only have equality for their culture and no others - this is uneducated hypocrisy - if I don’t have any interaction with a sub culture, don’t pay their bills, don’t have to be around them then why take an aggressive dislike to someone you don’t even know? How is this godly, humanly?

Just as how the LGBT+ community use their influence and money to marginalize Reggae & Dancehall artists, why can't we in the "straight" community use our influence and money to create and maintain the monetization of these same artists. I blame the "straight" community for not helping to maintain the income streams of these artists.

Rastas, just like most other people, are trying to re-define the Reggae as Rasta Music. Rasta Music is Reggae, but Reggae is not only Rast Music. You all are romanticising Reggae. Reggae grew organically and represented every views in the human spectrum and not only struggle, Rasta or even Jamaican. I am 64 years old and saw Reggae grew into its own in my home country, but also saw it become an international music genre. All you people are trying to do is to keep some people and views that you do not like out of Reggae, which is a wasted effort anyway.

I would love to hear those names of those people I would love Rasta to shame them man deh that's out deh a commit all kinds of crime. that's the issue I want here Rasta talk about. if you not talking about how we can reduce crime, the instability of our currency, the joke penal system, the targeting and murdering of returning residents. I don't give a fuck about two consenting adults who happen to do the genre of reggae music. I don't understand the obsession with gay people. make it make sense to me. the greatest reggae artiste of all times says "Everyman have a right to decide his own destiny and in his judgement there shall be no partiality" so if there is a god then he will deal with man personal choice or lifestyle..... what we need is to solve crime and poverty.

The sad things about most of these comments is that no one is highlighting the fact that she says she was brutalised by men ( raped and broken). Before wondering who is naming out who and pronoucing judgement on her what about try and overstrand her situation and what brought her to this point. The problem isn't homosexuality.. The problem is broken men and women relationships, fathers who abandon their children and leave them vulnerable to attack (physical, mental, emotional and sexual) from evil men. Women are also too blame when they as mothers either stand by and let the abuse happen or also abuse their children. We need solutions. We must get to the root. Otherwise live and let live and show the world your shining example of a wonderful man and woman relationship.
