An ex girlfriend introduced me to Stewart Lee in 2017 and I remember watching an episode of Comedy Vehicle being out of my depth. It was completely lost on me apart from the material Stew drops in for wankers like me who laugh in the wrong place and have no appreciation for what he’s trying to achieve. 6 years later having purchased and digested (well studied really) all of Stew’s work (carpet remnant world being my personal favourite) I saw something where he mentioned Simon. I’m torn between lamenting that I’m watching Simon on RUclips and loving his material. I’ve just finished watching a performance where he details 7 minutes of 2 single people discussing skiing, I can see why Stewart Lee loves him. I won’t call myself a fan until I’ve managed to transfer currency to Mr Munnery for his work, so thank you Simon from (currently) a well wisher.

The VO links for the Melbourne Comedy Festival gala are always so weirdly up and cheesy. Who directs them to deliver them like that?

I think it gives a sort of neutral start for the hijinks to play off of. The way the crowd laughter has been recorded on this is really overbearing.

That great-great-grandfather/coach joke, I'm pretty sure I heard another comedian say that like a year or so ago and it definitely wasn't Simon Munnery who said it at the time either. Did he steal that joke or was the joke stolen from him?

Stewart lee, but he's good friends with Simon so I think he probably bought it from him rather than stole it

not sure who he and him refer to in that comment but just wanted to clarify that stewart lee famously uses many of simon's jokes.if you listen to the commentary in the extras on the stewart lee comedy vehicle dvd there's one episode where stewart lee admitted to using something like three of simon's jokes all in the same episode. i'm almost certain it would have originally been a simon munnery joke that stewart lee borrowed rather than the reverse

‘Attention Scum’ was a great tv show that they did together...I think they have worked together a quite bit over the years.

It's the worst example of his peerless comedy I've seen. Try some more - he's one of the best.
