I think the CEX library must have been decided back in the day when they first started trading and now they just stick with the list they have, because not taking some of those games for is ridiculous! Great episode idea BTW, the idea of scanning all of those barcodes though gives me anxiety 😂
I use to have a CEX at Downtown Boston Mass, here in the US. That's interesting they sell Genesis games, in your location. 6th gen was the furthest they went back, to selling older games when the CEX here was around.
Insane!!! Unexpected? Not at all--but it's still insane and guts one to hear this... Sometimes you see large collections dropped off at a shops too and you KNOW it was a "deal" like this--one where the seller hardly got anything but then the games fetched such a profit... Pirates of Dark Water is a great game BTW--loved the cartoon too!
Everyone’s complaining about Cex, but I think this is the wrong audience. From my point of view, Cex is just there to easily take games off your hands for quick money. And when you’re buying, you’re not a collector; you’re just looking to play the game. Thanks for the video, I didn’t realise there was an app. I’ll probably scan my collection and then compare bits and bobs to eBay to see if I can get better prices for certain games.
Back in the day it was Computer EXchange (with Charlie Brooker doing the art for the adverts) but now they're known as Complete Entertainment eXchange.
CEX still has some great stuff if you can get yourself to the store and see the item in person, got Decap Attack boxed with manual for £20 this weekend, so chuffed 💀
Great vid. I must say tho, Ive bought a few mega drive games from cex online lately and the quality has been in the majority pretty good. I have always ordered just the generic boxed version rather than mint. Most have had manuals and the boxes are in good condition. The odd one is a little tatty but on the whole good for the prices they charge
Ya I think it can be a little hit and miss. But a friend of mine bought Comix Zone after this video and it was in great condition and half the price of anything on eBay.
Great video idea, i'm sure you will get requests for more of your games. I'm quite lucky as i know the manager in my local branch. He always puts retro games with boxes without manuals as unboxed prices. When they are boxed you know they will have a manual. When i check the app i can get a good idea whats in store that way. Sometimes the manua'sl aren't great, etc. But when a boxed snes game goes in, ill know it has a manual for example, or even better you turn up and a unboxed megadrive game may actually have a box with it for a good price.
