This song randomly played on my phone & something told me to sit and listen. I followed the lyrics on Apple Music and it wasn’t long before i realized the lyrics were a message from my higher self.

I’ve got to take the steps to branch off from the life society or my upbringing created for me. I’ve got to tap in and create the life that I want. Take steps I need to take toward my definition of happiness. My future self is tired of being put on pause. Ive given up on myself soooo many times that its time to get consistent. When I give up on myself, I reject my happiness. The outside can no longer influence the relationship i have with myself. Time to move “me” closer to “my” happiness. 🤍

The last time I heard such powerful vocals was Johnette Napolitano singing Joey. Completely different song, but I am so glad to find a singer songwriter like Sara. I look forward to more of her.

Sara Watkins is an amazing talent, but I just can't get past the production of her studio recordings -- too much of the grit and life of these songs has been polished away. She is MUCH better live.
Agree! I just discovered her on "Live From Here" with Chris Thiele singing this song.... and it was much, much better. Can't wait to discover more of her songs.

Great song, but the video is a total let-down
this makes me think she has some type of mental disorder and she just had an episode in front of her family. That's why they seem not to care, and she leaves to calm herself
